Follow-up to last week's anxiety-driven video

I swear I'm not gonna spam all of these as Patreon notifications, but there is a relevant Patreon update in this one.

In short, I'm working on implementing a hybrid model that allows me to maintain a Patreon Early Access backlog so that ya'll still get that perk, but I also get to hop on timely zeitgeists for the sake of the health of the channel.

The problem with the Patreon Early Access thing is that enough people have hopped onto it to the point that the official release of each video is noticeably impacted. Anywhere from 50 to maybe even a couple hundred views don't end up happening because people already watched it on Patreon months ago. A victim of my own success, I guess lol. The other struggle comes when videos are delayed for months by this process.

At the end of the day, when certain games come out that are "perfect" for the channel, I really need to drop everything and cover them right away, publicly, because these are my chances to grow. If I don't grow, I die. Right now, Blue Prince is that game. So you'll continue to get Omori, Yakuza, FVNs, and whatever I play next, but for now Blue Prince is going to be exclusively a public series so that it has a strong launch. I hear it might be a long game? So it might start getting Patreon videos like 10 parts in or something, but for now we need that strong start. I'll behave similarly the next time a game that seems like Mars Vice or Riven comes out. It's a little hard to articulate when a game has that Keith's Channel rizz but I usually know it when I see it.

I'm also gonna try converting episode durations back to being shorter, so the part numbers on Patreon might stop matching the public releases, just like what happened when I made them longer in the first place. I'll try to fix it, but either way this period will pass and new content will be accurate again.
