Dev Plans (April 1st - June 1st)

Hello Backers!

With the latest release a lot of side-content and features were added! The Red-Light district has been populated with a lot of the necessary base content now, which enables me to focus on adding actual story content for the 3 named characters in that district.

With this, language translation support was also added! I'm working with a few translators already to get the game translated into Japanese, Russian, and Spanish. Unfortunately, adding translation support broke the message log history, so I'll have to figure out how to fix that.

Additionally, the first stage of the combat rework was implemented! The skill tree introduces a new level of complexity to combat. The next phase of the combat rework will be reworking enemies, bosses, and allies.

Anyways, there was a decent amount of stuff added that isn't specifically story/content focused, but will hopefully in the end make the game feel more polished. I hope players did enjoy the side-character events that were added this release though.

At the moment the game's in a rough state, with bugs being discovered that have increased in complexity. I'm hoping to work through most of those as soon as possible, but it's hard as some bugs are also caused by legacy issues.

To be honest, I wasn't completely satisfied with the quality of this release, and I think that issue will only compound as the game continues extending in an incomplete state. But I won't get too much into that here.

With all that being said, let's move onto this next release!

1. Main Story Implementation: Dungeon 4

After getting distracted with side-content for 2-months, we'll finally be coming back to the main story.

This release I'll be working on finishing all content related to Dungeon 4. The remaining 3 traps, bad end, etc. will be finished this release. Leila and her twisted schemes will come to a close and usher in the 5th chapter of the story, bringing us ever closer to the end.

2. Side Quest: Abandoned Hospital Exploration

You might be wondering why this is here and wasn't released in the previous version. Unfortunately some art got delayed and I wasn't happy with how the quest looked so I decided to wait on implementing it a bit.  Unfortunately Luna and Erin won't make their appearances until next release.

However, there's also another reason this side-quest was delayed, as it will be introducing a new mechanic that I originally did not plan on implementing due to the complexity it added.

3. Feature: Emma Casual Outfit

With the next release players will have the ability to switch between Emma's Uniform and a Casual Outfit gifted to her by Luna permanently after completing the aforementioned side-quest!

 

4. Combat Rework Part 2

I'm hoping with this next release to finish the planned combat rework as well. Enemies, Allies, and Bosses all will be getting reworked to be more interesting and so that they fit into the new system. I'm expecting some bugs at first, but once this is implemented fully I think it'll make the game feel a lot cleaner overall.

5. Implementing Backers Choice

As always I'll be implementing the backers choice. Definitely seems like it'll be Mystery Emma or Aurora at the moment, but we'll see... I'm having "Déjà vu...
