2025-10-21 23:28:36 +0000 UTCi agree with what you were saying about shane rick similarities but also differences atm. they have a similar mindset now, but shane didn't need any of these traumatic events or a long time living on the road to turn into what he did, he just switched even before killing otis like it was always in shane to begin with. while rick instead unfortunately had to experience the worst things like loris death, governor, seeing his son almost get r worded infront of him and terminus to develop his mindset. also if you even watch shanes speech before opening the barn and ricks speech here, they're really similar. i feel like the writers even took inspiration from shanes speech when writing ricks one. but fortunately rick has people like michonne and others to keep him in check. other slight similarities i found i feel the writers included were shane wanting lori and carl like rick wanted jessie, also rick saying the samething to pete after choking him that shane said to ed after beating him "you touch them again and i'll kill you". even the whole shane wanting to kill randal because he's a threat and rick wanting to kill pete in the same way. i really like the complexity in the way they wrote ricks character this season

I hope you are safe and healing now 💚💚 TWD touches on many heavy subjects like death, abuse, loneliness etc. It is only natural for us, the viewers, to make connections with our own stories/experiences/traumas so please, do not apologise for talking about it (I do it all the time as well xD)! Sending you virtual hugs and positive energy 🤗

2025-10-05 16:59:29 +0000 UTCAs a domestic abuse victim, I totally understand Jessie. We feel like no one cares that this is happening to us, and we think we can fix them. We feel like no one will love us now because we are broken. If only people had a Rick to help us, even when we don't want it. I really respect Rick for this, and I also would do the same now for someone else if they needed it. Sorry to spill my life drama lol, but it just hit me hard watching this scene again. <3
