I think this anime was also the start of my love of youkai ('monsters' is a generic translation, but it encompasses all manner of otherworldly creatures), so I will add in comments on the wonderful youkai included or referenced in Naruto! Let's start with the nine-tailed fox! Called 'kyuubi no kitsune' in Japanese (kyuu = nine, bi = tail(s), kitsune = fox), this is a powerful fox demon (or spirit, as the subtitles called it). They can have any number of tails up to nine, with generally one being 'grown' every hundred years or so, so the more tails they have the stronger they are. Thus the nine-tails is an old and POWERFUL creature.

2025-09-06 23:49:58 +0000 UTClmao i forgot how fast paced the first episode is. i can’t say i’m the biggest fan of naruto, but i did watch it when i was a kid. i only got through 500 episodes and i think it’s overhyped but it is a classic like everyone has said. it’s just an anime everyone and their mom has seen in the community so it makes sense for yall to watch it, i’m excited to see reactions to certain parts! sasuke and naruto are my favorite characters fs (and sand boy for yall who know)
