hii this is kinda late but i love your reactions so much.. for your additional information, fruits basket manga actually have its sequel called fruits basket another. in that manga, one of the main character is shiki (akito and shigure son).. basically, in that sequel.. one of the main storyline is we can clearly see that apart from other people, akito is the only one who technically don't get her happy ending. because some people (the zodiacs and even outside sohmas) still resent and don't forgive her even after all the time (which is valid).. but it lead to a very toxic point where people judgement on akito affected shiki in lots of way too.. one of my favorite quotes from shiki is something like even when people hate akito, he's still only know and grow up with this kind loving mother, so he feel very unfair... when people and even akito, still punish and being hard on herself after everything... but it's such an interesting perspective to see the sequel went that way. and shiki is definitely the very best boy of whole entire fruits basket franchise if i can say.. he's almost as perfect as tohru ^^

2025-08-30 17:23:58 +0000 UTCaaa this feels so bittersweet, i can’t believe the fruits basket reactions are ending 😭 i still remember voting in the poll where furuba won – i got so excited when i saw it listed because it’s one of my faves, and voted even though i didn’t think it would actually be chosen. then i came back to see it had the most votes and was so shocked and excited ! it was my first time rewatching this version of the anime and i couldn’t be happier to have done it with you guys. your deep introspective talks, observations, and the patreon’s comments made it such a unique experience. i’ve learned so much from this show 🤍 also fyi: there’s a sequel to furuba in manga form called “fruits basket another.” it’s set about 20 years after the main story and follows a new girl who isn’t related to the sohmas or tohru, along with the kids of the original characters. the original cast is mentioned but don’t show up. it hasn’t been adapted into an anime tho. anyways so glad furuba was part of your anime journey, it really was the perfect pick, im gonna miss it so much. but can’t wait to see what comes next ❣️
