bahhh I find Choji to be soooo much more annoying than Nirei.. Hope he goes back to normal soon. Also, this show seems like it was inspired quite a bit by Tokyo Revengers. No, not just the school gangs/fighting, but a lot of character personalities, relationships/bonds between certain characters, and what the groups stand for are similar too. I hope you give Tokyo Revengers a chance one day~ I know a lot of people disliked the manga's ending (I really liked it), but if you ever react to it, I would like to share some of the similarities I noticed lol. It was the first ongoing manga I actively kept up with and finished, and I have a bit of attachment to the story β€ Alsooooo, just wanted to share cuz I can't help it. But "Ume chan" is Umehara Yuuichirou's nickname (Jo's voice actor), so whenever Choji says "Umechan" I can't help but picture Umehara Yuuichirou instead of Umemiya.

I don't particularly have much experience in fighting, I mean I did a semester of Kung Fu (Shaolin) when I was in college but it was basically learning forms for self defense, improving flexibility and strength so it blows me away all the detailed fighting and the endurance these characters must have because all I can think of is concussions, hairline fractures, sprains, possible internal bleeding on top of the obvious external bleeding that we can see... maybe losing some teeth from all the blows to the jaw.... That's how good the animation is, incredible work from the animators and how much time it must have taken to do just one of these fights, all of the different angles and rapid movement and being able to see the heaviness of the blows, it's truly masterful. On a different note, at this point I can say I really don't like Choji's attitude, he comes of as completely self-absorbed, zero empathy and with an obsession regarding an image of "freedom" that he sees from Umemiya, that seems to stem from jealousy and maybe some type of resentment..? In short not a person you would want as a leader of anything let alone a group of fighters who are supposed to be looking for strength. Regarding Sakura and Jo's confrontation, I think after this togame will never again let himself be the bad guy because he finally realized that he should have stood up to Choji instead of giving in to his nonsensical sense of freedom, thanks to Sakura and the comments he made during the fight. I got to say I'm thoroughly enjoying this anime more than I thought I would and I think it's definitely because I'm watching along with you guys so I hope in the future I can watch more anime for the first time with you, thank you for all your dedication every week I know it can be a lot of work.
