Wind Breaker - 1x7 REACTION!! *OTAKU GOLD*

Comments

I gotta say, the animation for this show is soooo good. Love that they include small details like their bloodied raw knuckles in a realistic style.. first time seeing that in an anime. Usually you see blood all over the fists but not broken skin or redness from irritation. Poor Sakura... how is his nose still fine? Love Jordan's analogy of the fight being more like a dance. Jo seemed like he was a genuinely good guy, but I disagree with how he decided to handle the situation with Choji. Being the "bad guy" so that Choji won't have to be, isn't the way to go. I understand that his admiration and love for Choji are what made him decide to take that path, but he very clearly strongly disagreed with him and his view of how the gang should be. The rest of the gang most likely would have agreed with Jo, and Choji can't just kick everyone else out. That would mean that the gang would disband and he'd have to create a new one from scratch.

Hello, my favorite twins ☺️🫢🏻✌🏻️ I hope you're all doing well and taking care of yourselves! Let's talk a little about these two episodes of Wind Breaker and the relationship between Sako and Hiragi, and Choji and Jo. I really want to talk about their relationship and I hope you'll read it ☺️☺️ I've watched Wind Breaker more than four times and read the manga, which isn't finished yet (oh, I don't know if you know, but the anime is based on a manga ☺️)... As we saw in episode 6, we got a glimpse of Sako's feelings for Hiragi and why he held a grudge. But I must say, their relationship is much deeper than what was shown. That's why he was so kind to Sako after the fight was over (carrying him and carefully placing him on the ground, and even lightly "threatening" Jo, haha). And when he sat next to Umemiya, he asked if he wanted to know what had happened between him and Sako in the past. Their relationship is much deeper than we've seen. Let's take a look at the small signs shown in episode 6, during the fight and in the flashbacks to their past. 1-At the beginning of the fight, Jo asks Sako, "Sako, did something happen between you and Hiragi?" But Sako doesn't answer. 2- After a while of fighting, Hiragi notices Sako's improvement, but says it half-jokingly. And Sako responds, "I'm not the same as before. I'll teach you a lesson." 3-In the midst of all this, Jo talks to Choji, and Jo says the following about Sako: "This way of fighting should demonstrate your feelings for Hiragi." 4-We have the flashback, which reveals many things that happened between the two, and especially the reason for Sako's resentment towards Hiragi. We have our Sako asking Hiragi to go to Furin with him, but Hiragi responds, "You shouldn't come with me. I'm going to support a guy named 'Umemiya.' Even if you 'come,' what you're 'expecting' won't happen. Look for a new 'goal.'" Hearing this, Sako felt devastated, which created a feeling of abandonment within him. Much more than a feeling of admiration for Hiragi, he wanted to be by he side. And he's no longer the one who will be by Hiragi's side. That's why Sako says, "I thought I'd always be by your side." What Sako didn't know was that Hiragi was also doing this to protect him from future disappointments; in a way, Sako is Hiragi's weak spot. 5- So we have Jo's first meeting with Sako, and he approaches Sako, inviting her to join the Shishitoren. As he does so, Sako thinks of Hiragi: "I'll get stronger, defeat him, and make him regret it." (Here we see Sako's obsession with getting stronger and showing Hiragi that he made the wrong choice in choosing Ume... we also observe Sako's jealousy that Hiragi chose Ume... πŸ‘€). The fact is, when Sako attacks Hiragi and Hiragi faints for a few minutes and Sako turns to look at the Furin students, who is the first person he looks at? Umemiya. Then Sako says, looking at Ume, but referring to Hiragi: "You haven't evolved and you've become weak. You became this way because you surrounded yourself with those guys. 'Spoiled' brats who only want to be 'friends.'" At that moment, both Suo (the guy with the eyepatch) and Sugi (the guy with the long hair) understand Sako's mean words. That's why their faces turn serious. Sakura and Nirei, unknowingly, are only angry because Hiragi is down. 6-At the end of the fight, Hiragi delivers the final blow and says, "I'm sorry I couldn't meet your expectations." At that moment, Sako loses his strength and thinks, "It's not that. You don't need to apologize. I knew you were worried about me." Here we see what Sako wanted: he says, "I didn't want you to tell me that. I wanted you to ask me to go with you. Because 'you' have always been 'my goal.' It doesn't matter where you end up or who you follow, I just want to be with you." Therefore, Hiragi and Sako's relationship isn't so simple. Regarding Choji and Jo, I can't say much about their relationship to avoid spoilers, but from what's been shown, I can say this: What little I can say about their relationship, I can say it's much more than "just" admiration. But from what's been shown so far, the moment Jo realized Choji had "lost his way," he did everything he could to protect Choji and Shishitoren. He wanted everyone to maintain Choji's positive (sunny) image, so he used himself as a negative image. And he started doing the negative (dirty) work. But everything has consequences, and you'll find out as the episodes go on. But remember, their relationship is much more than just admiration. I've already said a lot, but you already know I say a lot, haha πŸ‘€πŸ˜Š Take care and stay well ☺️🫢🏻✌🏻️ Borahae πŸ’œ

I'm rewatching Kaiju No. 8 and J&J's reactions too, bcos I'm preparing myself for the season 2 😊 Yeah, I think it'd be nice if they react to it next.

What I'm loving about Wind Breaker despite the characters being like "delinquent" young students (who probably don't have any interest in studying and know nothing else but fighting) -- was their LOYALTY and empathy to one another. Even the ones considered as like the bad guys (Shishitoren boys) - turns out that they value their relationship with each other, even if it means sacrificing your own image, they would do anything just to make that one very special friend happy. I actually like Kame-chan πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ Not all men can be like this, you know. There are some who are actually very educated, even a CEO maybe, but totally lacks loyalty and empathy. LOL πŸ˜† Thank you for this reaction, mah fave brosss! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ’œ

Great fight between Sakura and Jo togame they really have a good conversation 😜 I like Togame character He just wants to see Choji (his leader) shine bright like the sun again. Even if it means he has to do all the dirty work. and I like one detail that they added with Choji's eyes. you can see in the flashback before he became the leader that they were normal and full of life but after that its change they went crazy eyes and all the life in his eyes were gone. that why I LOVE Wind Breaker it explores all the emotions and relationships between all the people involved. Great episode, Great reaction. Have a good week🀍

see this is wtf i meant in my last comment 🀣😭 i won't say i like jo now, but i do understand him a bit better now. the way i perceived the dynamic with him and choji is that jo admires choji sort of similar to how sako admires hiragi. choji took in loner jo. what i got from the flashbacks is that jo thinks choji has lost his mind, for lack of a better term. as a result, he vowed to become the one in shishitoren to basically do all the dirty work, be the "bad scary guy", making himself look worse than choji, so no one would see choji in a negative light, so people would only see choji as "the sun". reminds me a little of amajiki and mirio's relationship in my hero, how amajiki sees mirio as the sun and someone to look up to. granted, this is a little different because mirio is the definition of sunshine personified, and choji seems just downright unhinged. very interesting developments.

Hi J&J, This is a bit off topic and might be a bit early too but FYI season 2 of Kaiju N.8 is being released now, by the time you finish windbreaker it should be done, so you might want to include it in you next poll. Great reaction as always I hope next episode concludes this fight, because I want to find out what Umemiya's fighting style is like to command so much respect and devotion from Bofurin. Love from... you know where ❀️
