for the record, Velociraptor was only 2 ft tall, not 6 ft.

GeorgeNoBeans

guh

bea

no like this ragebait is really working yall actually need to get me in there

sara rodriguez

the period/moon theory comes from them both being 28 day cycles on average also we get hella oxygen from the ocean like a lot of it because of the algae and phytoplankton which makes up the base of the food chain also a lot of major nutrient cycles rely on the ocean

sara rodriguez

side note the micro organisms in the ocean provide the largest portion of our oxygen so yes there would be less oxygen

nnoctiss

the ocean bit was genuinely the hardest i have laughed in so long

nnoctiss

youse talk about periods so much get the period simulator machine and progressively go up in levels till the max u can’t bitch out

tauinof

i've been laughing so loudly for the past 20 minutes at the ocean hypothetical i think my family is getting worried

Sully

i appreciated the beatles reference

eliza

They can’t keep doing these kind of episodes if they both don’t know anything abt it 😭

Finley

Love this format of answering hypotheticals with no Google. Keep ‘em coming!

Monique

Just 50 pure minutes of tom rage baiting jack

Summer

Jacks helpless squeaking noises in the dinosaur bit lol

Finley

get hank green on here wtf

harpy

or without prep time so we can watch him be confused as fuck 😂😭

Mace Ether

Thank you Tom Simon’s for getting rid of periods (via removing the ocean)

Cherry

all these questions make me yearn for a hank green episode where tom asks him all of these stupid questions (obviously with prep time for hank)

BigLankyCod

For jack’s skin: The Ordinary hyaluronic acid! It was a game changer for me (as someone who has never had bad skin but keeps getting spots in adulthood)

Ophookie

made the silly decision to listen to this on the bus so I probably looked insane since I was giggling to myself

phainonoiled

theres a video on youtube what would happen if the oceans dissappeared! very interesting stuff

Starlight

hi jack skincare advice from the main pod, too many products = worse spots. salicylic acid every other day and a good rich moisturiser before bed. in the morning use a moisturiser with spf :)

kassie

Why

Lauren Black

Like please show this man a geography textbook to teach him about the water cycle, and give him the sex education class on menstruation while he's there🙏

Richard Montgomery

If Jack is kyogre who is rayquaza?

Richard Montgomery

tommy in his groudon era

Anthony

this episode rlly made me want to punch tom

kiwi

I fucking lost it when the worm was dead, that was the funniest & darkest “How’s the worm doing” I’ve ever seen

Green Tea ( @Hotsaladwater )

this eopside has made me realise that conversation with tom is somehow less coherent than that of a conversation with your 9 year old cousin, maybe this is why he likes the random conversations lol

Mackenzie Hinchey

TLDR: Tom (almost) made a solid point. Over 70% of Earth’s oxygen comes from oceanic phytoplankton, so if the oceans vanished, oxygen levels would plummet over 6 months, causing heart strain, nausea, and eventually death. Exploring seabeds or walking to France? Not happening. And before that, mega earthquakes (8 to 10 magnitude) would hit within seconds, like the 2004 Indonesia quake (9.1) that killed 230,000+. An almost good point from Tom about the oxygen when the oceans disappear. Not him saying the whole H2O stuff but over 70% of Earth’s oxygen comes from oceanic phytoplankton so over 6 months there would be super high heart strain and nausea so I doubt you would explore the seabeds and walk to France in those conditions. The most immediate thing would be earthquakes happening in seconds after it disappears between 8-10 magnitude for example in Indonesia in 2004 a 9.1 hit and over 230,000 people died.

AboveAverageSam

A fever dream of an episode but always entertaining

Ellie

I never want to even think about the sea again after that

Niamh Blunsum

wait but they should get philomena cunk on the pod it would be such a good episode

ultravioletbutch

was literally just thinking this, i finished it the other day and i think he’d find it really interesting!!

ultravioletbutch

you should watch the last man on earth its basically what tom was saying

magic8ball

those big existential stuff about dying was scary as FUCK. like that's definitely dying stuff not even maybe dying plus fighting it off that shit is scary i preferred the dinosaur one cause we'd overcome that like covid and there'd be history books written about the great dinosaur war of 2025 and how we were victorious and we were all brought together by these damn dinosaurs and it'd be actually kind of beautiful

vuh

jack wouldnt last long in an apocalypse hes got no hair to keep him warm. baldy.

Freddie Blockley-Smith

I want to see Tommy do a full set of stand up where he just says "wot if *insert absurd premise*? Thought exercise."

harlizard

I'm 100% here for Jack tortures Tommy with pop culture trash memes

harlizard

Sorry in advance but I have to let out my inner Dino nerd. A helmet wouldn’t change much because most carnivorous dinosaurs have enough bite force to complete crush a helmet. Even the herbivorous dinosaurs could get through it. Even raptors which have a sickle claw on their feet would rather go for the neck or body to slice you apart. Even then there were probably more dinosaurs than humans since they lived on earth for 165 million years while we only existed for 200,00 years. Plus not all dinosaurs existed at the same time it’s separated into three time periods, the Triassic, The Jurassic, and The Cretaceous with the famous ones like T Rex and Raptors showing up the end. And we only found about 700 species total with more being found

Eric_Cartman67

petition to throw the worm a funeral

nora

tommy should read Tender is The Flesh

Aemilius

We might need to send tommy back to school

Nathan

oh my god i love that channel its so good

rubiestone

Tom would love xkcd's what if

Z00mane

tom is right again for the wrong reason There would absolutely be significantly less oxygen in the air if the ocean disappeared. Between 50-85% of the world's O2 is produced by the ocean. It's a large enough amount to the point where most of the animal life would die. There would also be other impacts (climate, energy, etc.), but that is the largest.

aimmsu

understanding*

priyaa

Why is he talking about his wallet like its the one piece

TNTpenguin

i really loved the question about dinosaurs, i'm going to be thinking about that all day! like could i beat a raptor in a fist fight? probably not it might bite my head off but what if i had a big knife? if dinosaurs were here would they let us have really big knives? if so, i think i might have a better chance. i'd just have to get really really bold. maybe wear a motorbike helmet do possibly decrease the chance of my head getting bit off. i always thought about human apocalypses but never with dinosaurs involved....

vuh

TOM! Your understand of basic science is frustrating

Tobin Bow

Happy birthday!

Luna Cazador

jack is like the nimble mouse, taunting and provoking the big cat, tom, whos mind is vast but body is to slow to outpace the nimble rodent.

S34s4lt

best bday gift is new shut up i’m talking episodes

max

Tommy discovering the world with Jack explaining it is so wholesome and funny.

dimin

you guys NEED to get hank green on

Koddie

i paid and you delivered

charlie cheuk

“If you took away all the periods would the ocean feel it” I’M DEAD

Kendall

And the water cycle gets nice and ignored

Hamish Mills

The of Photosynthesis is done by Phytoplankton in the sea so we would run out of oxygen, and suffocate fro the CO2

Hamish Mills

yall keep giving me an existential crisis 😭 every time i watch these now yall are talking about death or the end of the world

Maggz

i think tom is smarter than jacks letting on hes just bad at formatting complex ideas quickly, if you give him a good faith interpretation he makes sense

'~'

talking about wallets i do need a cheaper ridge alternative

Wobbyl

wait no tom is onto something i thought periods were linked to the moon too 🤣

PigCow

I'm gonna pretend this comment never existed and I've never read this

Carbon Monoxide

GOATTT

Carbon Monoxide

the breathing part about wind made them sound like piglins in mc

Josh

"you could use the money to get a better therapist" is sooo "noo dont kys you're so sexy aha"

Josh

Removing the ocean would result in the AMOC ceasing to exist, and that would mean climate and weather wouldn’t be regulated… so it would be pretty bad yea

Gabe

Ok the ocean part has me rolling laughing

Jess

Not gonna lie, the TommyInnit app sounds iconic

Jess

can someone check for some kind of gas leak or mold in tommy's house, I'm actually concerned

username. 54432

do the planes and stop jack i barley keeping this podcast afloat

PSL_femboy

the people dissapearing conversation was quite good sadly it didnt go far enough

PSL_femboy

"think about how many of them are knobheads" yea there's one on my screen

PSL_femboy

this guy doesnt know shit

PSL_femboy

this one was bad

PSL_femboy

I love how the ocean disappeared and the big question is if a beach would still be considered a beach

Sophie Quaker

starting to question how often tom brings up doing sexual things with jack... do you have something to tell us?

Ezra Brewer

im begging you guys to invite a biology/chemistry professor on the pod and ask them loads of questions like cunk on earth but for cordyceps and zombies

lemoneul

no tommy raptors dinosaurs dont fly you are thinking of raptor birds

sillystone

With the question about the birds can they communicate and come up with a plan or are they just going at people? Because I imagine they can do a lot of harm by biting electric wires or destroying fields or like deciding to go for one type of insects and messing up with the food chain

Sophie Quaker

Fun fact: AverageBarry has seen the dinosaurs in real life!

averagebarry

Tommy thinking periods being linked to the moon is going to make me piss myself

Finn Ward

WOOOOO PPPPPPATREOOOONNN M FIRST NEW EPISODE SINCE I BECANE A SUBSCRIER
