Blood on the Lens - Version 1.0
Added 2024-09-01 05:30:01 +0000 UTCIn a brief lull before the release of the revised Player’s Handbook, I designed an entire 270-page TTRPG. (Half-sized pages, but still!)
In Blood on the Lens, you play characters in an unfolding horror movie. And when you take damage, you tear parts off your character sheet. You must survive whatever supernatural threat is on the prowl, investigate it, and perhaps even defeat it. Not everyone will make it out alive; nobody will make it out unscathed.
This game is played with a handful of d6s, a Character Sheet for each player, a pair of scissors, a few ink pens, and a handful of index cards, and a Rules Reference sheet for the table. Everything in Blood on the Lens is written in ink or ripped permanently off your character sheet. Don’t bother bringing pencils.
You can learn this game and be playing it within minutes. Just download the rules, pick a setting and a monster, print out some character sheets, and gather your nerves.
Included in this release, you'll find:
The entire Blood on the Lens sourcebook (270+ pages!)
22 character sheets
Rules reference sheets for the players and the Director
Changelog (1.1 - 9/19/2024)
Director Dice have been reworked
The "Know" Reaction has been changed to "Think" -- updated across all character sheets
Small improvements to character sheets and book
Added a Party Sheet containing inventory and session notes
Players get another +1 to an Action or Reaction (up to three) at character creations
(Additional Update: 9/20/2024): Fixed a few typos
(1.1 - 9/26/2024)
Removed a reference to old "Doom Clock" mechanic (still version 1.1)
Fixed Alchemist character sheet
(1.1 - 9/26/2024)
You can only use Director's Dice to improve Action rolls now. Playtesting revealed that they were too strong when used with Reactions when coupled with Adrenaline
Rules reference sheets updated to reflect this change
