Book of Extinction 7 (and other little updates)
Added 2023-03-02 03:59:55 +0000 UTCIt's been another very busy month! In addition to the Complete Martyr expansion, I've got various Book of Extinction chunks to show you. Remember, the Book of Extinction comes to Kickstarter March 21st! First things first: let's talk about what else we were up to this month.
Mage Hand Monthly
We're starting a new initiative called the Mage Hand Monthly. The premise here is really simple: we'll send you recaps of all the cool stuff we make each month, so you don't have to go digging around on the blog, the Patreon, and Kickstarter to see what we're up to. Ever since we got back into doing weekly blog posts, folks have been confused about when they go live, so I'm hoping you'll like the once-monthly dose of all that content in one place. And I'm not really into wasting anyone's time with a superfluous newsletter, so it's going to be all-killer, no filler.

Site Rework
The Mage Hand Press site got a much-needed upgrade, integrating the store directly into the site! This upgrade does a number of cool things and also gives us an opportunity to migrate our physical products between warehouses. Here's the big takeaways:
- You can now easily access your downloads, check your preorders, and view your past orders, without digging through emails.
- You can pre-order Witchy Cakes (and soon other products) directly through our website, instead of a third party like BackerKit.
We've also finally migrated all of the Complete Class changes over to the store, so if you purchased something on the store before, you might have an update email waiting for you!
Extinction!
This month, we overhauled the book's graphic design, gave it a brand new logo, and knocked out a ton of monsters. However, it's a bit more in-progress than usual, so today I'll be offering a subset of the new monsters we've added to the book: Haast's Eagle, the Japanese Wolf, the Quagga, and Stephen's Island Wren.
Each of these has an absolutely incredible story, but I want to tell you about one in particular: the Stephen's Island Wren was a small, flightless bird that might remind you of a mouse. It was a fast little bird that hopped between the rocks on the isolated Stephen's Island. Rumor has it that a single cat -- Tibbles -- drove the entire species extinct! We reimagined the wren as a trio of cat-killing bird knights imbued with powerful weapons by the Rose Court of the Feywild. Check out the PDF to read more.
Comments
I only threw on a few new monsters this time because the PDF is extra in-progress right now. I've opened up two new chapters that are just all over the place, and I'd prefer not to show them off yet
