Cakewalk | Murder on the Gourmet Express
Added 2022-02-01 13:44:51 +0000 UTCBehold, I’m back! The time has come to shrug off the winter hibernation and get back into releases, starting with more Cakewalk content. This time, we have an Agatha Christie-inspired murder mystery called Murder on the Gourmet Express. If you thought the last one had too many puns, you haven’t seen anything yet!
I held off on this one until after the holidays because our release order for Cakewalk has been weird so far. Right now, we’re sort of chewing on the book from all angles: we have a refresh for the races nearly complete (introducing the mushroom people, portofellows, and the squat, angry berrians), a 1st-and-2nd-level starting adventure more than 50% complete, and three other adventures in progress with various talented writers. As frustrating as it is, I’m trying to release them as they’re finished, as opposed to when they make the most sense so you’re not left waiting for months. In the meantime, you’ll have to imagine what a portofello looks like and speculate about the Rings of the Onion King that we’ve introduced in the setting.

I feel that foodfolk are horribly underrepresented in the media. Excited to see people giving them the portrayals they deserve! In all seriousness, even without art this adventure sounds like fun. I appreciate the details about the different important characters being presented upfront, as opposed to scattered throughout the adventure wherever they first appear. As always, excellent work!!
