Iconic Archetypes
Added 2016-05-01 07:43:15 +0000 UTCYou can play a bard of battledancing, a rogue disconnected from his own shadow, or a chicken-infested sorcerer. But what's just a bard look like? What's just a wizard look like? Just a barbarian? Included here are a few archetypes which try to answer that question, and in doing so, paint a picture of the iconic class expression underneath.
More than being pure expressions of their core classes, Iconic Archetypes are ideal for introducing newly beginning roleplayers to the class, cutting away much of the nuance that can drive subclasess in favor of a single archetype. Moreover, they make an excellent choice for quickly building NPCs, since they focus on the core features of the class, rather than implementing new ones.
Iconic Archetypes contains 3 new archetypes: the College of Fate, the Path of the Forsaker, and the Inquisitor Redux!
Changlog: 1.01: Fatespinner: Deny Fate: Typo fixed
6/15/16: Forsaker: Spellbreaker: Become immune as a reaction
Forsaker: Break Free: Constitution check, not concentration check
Forsaker: Spell Breaker: Resistance to spells, rather than DR
7/19/16: Versatilist: Prerequisite added
8/30/16: Versatilist: Versatile Combatant: Reworded, and you always can always fire ranged weapons in melee without disadvantage.
Universalist: Arcane Concentration: Completely replaced

Most of these should already have individual archetype documents on the blog, and the forsaker should be getting a blog release soon, since it was provided by the fantastic Takiskal. That should just leave the College of Fate and the new Inquisitor, which I can try to get together and include here (but I refuse to find new art for them, since that's bound to be a hassle.

2016-05-14 02:47:55 +0000 UTCWould it be possible to publish each new archetype individually? I dont't think it's a major concern, but it'd help cataloging the allowed homebrew content for a campaing :D
