Hyrax TF - Concept Sketches
Added 2018-11-20 20:11:06 +0000 UTCSo for the first time in a while I've been able to get on and create the sketches for this month's Community Commission without too much of a rush. I don't often talk about the process of creating a tf work, but this set of sketches illustrates how I approach a project, starting with a single page of concept art of the victim and the intended species. Hyrax are new for me, so getting their body shape down was crucial.
The pictures on the right are the advanced sketches I'll use as the basis of my sequence. It may not be entirely set in stone but I've tried to get as much done as possible so that the inking phase will go quickly. Many of these poses went through some edits as I worked on the theme, settling on the idea of a biologist getting too close to the creatures she's studying.
