July Newsletter, Upcoming Videos, New Editor, etc

Hey all! Acting Mailman here to give you some updates and news on what I'm working on. While I didn't hit my goals for last month, I never want to upload a video that I'm not totally satisfied with. It's both a strength and weakness I see in myself but the point is even if I don't hit all my deadlines, the videos I do get out will always be worth the wait! Got some exciting ideas on the table and new opportunities so here's what I've got. 

New Editor 

After getting in contact with WiseFishGG (he edits for HiddenXperia, ForgeLabs & Roanoke Gaming) I decided to have him come on board as a part-time editor for my channel! You guys may remember that RennsReviews was editing some videos for me but he has his own aspirations for YouTube and his channel has been taking off a bit. I'm totally fine with that and respect it. My main goal is to increase production of videos while still maintaining the same level of quality and editing you'd expect.

What Makes An AWESOME Call of Duty Campaign?! 

The first project WiseFish will be taking over will be an examination and overview of what I think separates and AWESOME COD Campaign from a BAD one. I'll go in-depth on storytelling elements, gameplay, linear vs. non-linear design, originality and anything else I think goes into crafting these single-players. It will be posted next Saturday! I will be having WiseFishGG editing most of this video while I work on other projects.

Paper Mario & The Origami King Review? OR Paper Mario TTYD Review 

Tbh I'm very worried about the new Paper Mario game as I am a huge fan of the first two entries. Although I'm caught in a hard place because I wouldn't have enough time to write and edit a TTYD review, but that also means I need to find another project to work on until Origami King comes out. I'm thinking I'll tackle Origami King first and then follow up with a TTYD review. Since that all-time classic is one of my favorites, it definitely needs a lot of care and polish to get it to a level I am proud and happy with. 

I had a few other ideas...

Game Criticism Video Would discuss the role of game critics, how important they are, what separates important criticism from non-important criticism. This would be a pretty general video but I think it'd be fun to explore the purpose of my videos and the purpose of opinion pieces. Who's opinions and reviews do you trust? I could easily collaborate with other YouTubers and have them chime in on what they think the role of game criticism should play. There's a lot that goes into this subject. Although, I wonder if the video itself would perform well. 

Revisiting Halo 5's Campaign

I would still love to do this video but I would like to first post a video that is more on the positive side as I don't want every video to be negative. I'd basically re-review Halo 5's campaign but in a much more condensed format. I'm still on the fence about it because I've talked so much about Halo 5 in the past, I am not sure if the video would simply be redundant.

Patreon Voice Chat

I have also started being more active in the patreon discord voice chat! Since I didn't often game on PC and when I was on I was typically working, I didn't often jump into voice chat. But since Act Bro and I have been getting back into World of Warcraft Classic, it's the perfect opportunity to hang out and shoot the shit with all you wonderful people. I'll be fairly sporadic when I jump in and out but if you see me in there feel free to come on in and chat!

So that's where my head is at. I am not 100% sure which video I am going to start focusing on now but no matter which one it is, I will at least get two more videos out this month. Perhaps, I may also start working on a Bioshock 1 or Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare review as I know those are both highly requested. Will update you guys on progress in like a week or two so until then, thanks for reading and I look forward to posting some more dope ass videos for all of you!
