For those struggling like me - it turns out Virtual Desktop has a "Paste URL" button for YouTube videos! See here: https://i.imgur.com/zqgRpf2.jpeg (Note this _also_ downloads it to Videos/360 Videos so you can potentially use another player.)

Can we have a download of the video, please? Trying to use YouTube for this is a nightmare, and when I fetched it with youtube-dl the file only had one eye. If I can get a video file with both eyes in it I expect HereSphere will do well. EDIT: This part on HereSphere's codec support seems relevant: "HereSphere relies on Windows Media Foundation and hardware accelerated decoding for video playback. In order to play h265/HEVC videos, the HEVC extension for Windows must be installed. h264 videos must not be greater than 4k resolution and can only have 8-bit color depth, due to the limitations of hardware accelerated decoding of h264 videos."

I was able to watch it like god intended with Virtual Desktop through Steam VR. I jumped through so many hoops but god was it worth it.

Unfortunately it's nowhere near as easy as it should be, but I think you can use Firefox to cast VR video to the rift

I don't know if I'm dumb or dumb but attempting to even decipher how to even watch the video with my Oculus Rift S has been an absolute fucking NIGHTMARE. I really want to watch this video how its intended to be watched in order to capture the scale. But I don't know how with Youtube's paper cup infrastructure.
