I know I'm saying this a lot lately, but what with the world being the way it is right now I feel like I should be saying it more often; thank y'all so fukin' much for your support, seriously.
Main take-away here is I think I'm gonna switch to monthly charges starting next month. There are a few reasons for this, but the main thing is that need some stability.
Originally, I started this patreon page as a way to fund commissions for artists and cover production costs (equipment, software licences, stock sounds+music, etc.) However, as YouTube has shifted from my side project to my full-time job, I've been pressured more and more to release big videos faster and faster, because if I don't, I don't get paid.
In some ways that's a good thing! My work ethic is pretty poor, so a looming deadline is a pretty effective kick in the ass. I'm not able to really take breaks, though, and I don't want to be the next youtuber making a "woe is me burnout bad" vlog. Switching from per-video to per-monthly should help take the pressure off and allow me to take my time and stress a bit less. And pay animators more.
