It's time to enter the "Speak Now" era of our Taylor Swift Deep Dive!
We have 6 music videos, 5 live performances, 2 extra songs and 2 interviews in our list to go through for this album. I'm looking forward to reading everyone's comments!
I hope you enjoy :)
I love your videos so much. I love seeing new people slowly become swifties! It's like I'm reliving the albums through you. I also think a lot of people (who are newly becoming swifties) often can't figure out what "Long Live" is about because all they've heard or "known" is that everything she writes about is boys or men and love and heartbreak, so when they hear these different lyrics that are NOT about any of that, it confuses them. So yeah, Long Live is about herself, her band, and her fans. It is her most special song, to me, at least! :)

Speak now was my first Taylor album and will forever be my favourite Taylor album. I fear it is the closest thing we’ll ever get to a rock album from her. It’s such a great transition from country to pop for her, and it’s full of fan favourites. Last kiss has the most beautiful emotion in the original version, that you should definitely check out and listen for bc it will break your heart.
I also just love better than revenge and haunted - haunted is definitely my favourite from the album.

To answer the question posed for the track Speak Now (and Better Than Revenge), we support Taylor’s rights AND wrongs 💅🏼
Last Kiss will always be one of my favorites from Taylor for so many reasons, but it has one of her absolute best, most subtle pen tricks that is a knife to the heart: You don’t even know when the last kiss of the song IS the last kiss, because she sure doesn’t end it with last kiss. It’s gutwrenching. (Also, team KCN2 so I had the privilege of watching her restart this (twice) in front of Travis, with my own eyes).
I’ll never get over hearing how you talk about love, the love you witness in your life and the love you vow to find, it’s such a beautiful thing and I hope that never changes! (Also, stop being so hard on yourself, you keep saying things like ‘you’re going to do better or need to better’, but it’s clear, at least in the Swiftie-verse, you’re loved and a favorite because of your authentic reactions and commentary! I hope you’re not letting any negative feedback get in the way of your headspace! Keep doing what you’re doing, we love you!)

Sparks Fly is my favorite song from this album because of a really fun memory I have with my sister from about right when the album came out. We were cleaning our basement. Sparks Fly came on and we just stopped cleaning and broke out in song, singing into our broom and mop 🎶🎵🎤🎆🎇

I admire that trait of Taylor's so much - really shows how strong she is. Such an inspiration.

The amazing thing about Taylor is how brave she is in love. She's a hopeless romantic. She gets her heart trampled on constantly and writes about all her feelings for the whole world to know. People have used her and abused her and yet she still finds the courage every single time to fall into a relationship and give it her whole heart. Head first Fearless.

Danny, thank you for bringing me back to Speak Now! I forget how much I love this album. For context, my senior year of high school me and my best friends took our Senior trip to LA to see the Speak Now tour there. Long Live was our anthem and although I don't speak to any of those ladies anymore I hold them so closely to my heart - they were such kind souls and such a great influence on my life, and anytime I hear that song I fill with such happiness. I even got lucky enough to see her add it to the setlist in KC for the eras tour (the same night TK attended!). I know that one didn't resonate with you, but man, does that song speak to me. It's about her and her band as some others have stated, and when I listen to it I sense camaraderie and taking on the world together, feeling invincible. I also want to address your statement about dating and people getting the "ick" when someone is too available. If I can so humbly offer that if someone gets the ick by something you do so early on, that person isn't your person. While I did get the honor of meeting my husband at the young age of 20, I did make many mistakes in lust/love before that, and can tell you the main difference between him and others was that we could not get enough of being around each other, and we never had to act like anything other than who we were. Still 11 years later we don't get bored of each other :) I could feel the sadness in your voice when you spoke about dating, and hope you find your person soon!

Teen Tay was extra petty 🤣 she threw shade left and right in songs and interviews during that time.

My thoughts on the Better Than Revenge talk. If someone cheats, but the person they cheat with had no idea that they were in a relationship...then the blame solely lies on the cheater. However, if someone KNOWINGLY goes after a person in a relationship, then they can equally split the blame. Just my 2 cents 😜
