Lady Gaga - Born This Way (Special Edition) FIRST TIME REACTION

Comments

1. Judas has several meanings. 1st she's signing it as Mary Magdalene. In a biblical sense, she's stating how Judas didn't betray Jesus, but it was part of the plan. Lady Gaga has herself said this. How Judas sacrificed his reputation for the sake of prophecy. There is no Jesus without Judas, and no Judas without Jesus. Which takes us to the next meaning, Judas is a symbol for the dark side within oneself and embracing it (a theme she revisited for Mayhem). 2. Although Gaga says "Bloody Mary" 3 times like the urban legend, this track is also about Mary Magdalene's POV. How she won't cry for Jesus during his crucifixion because of her understanding of the prophecy, and her woman's strength. It is believed Mary Magdalene had a romantic relationship with Jesus. "Love is just a history that they may prove, and when you're gone, I'll tell them my religion is you. I'm ready for their stones". Tudum's version is sped up (TikTok tends to do this to songs and makes them go viral). 3. Black Jesus + Amen Fashion is an autobiographical song (like Marry the Night) about when she moved to downtown New York when she was 19. The lyrics are about how, when Gaga moved downtown, she was introduced to an entirely new way of thinking that was so different from the way she was taught. Up till then, she was taught throughout her entire life to look at Jesus and religion a certain way. So she sees Black Jesus as an entirely new way of thinking, which she believes was caused by meeting new people and seeing new things. She says that the Amen Fashion part of the song is about having a new way of seeing it as easy as changing your fashion. 5. Lady Gaga wrote "You and I" inspired by her ex-boyfriend, who, at the time, told her she'd never be famous. She told him, "One day you won't be able to order coffee at the diner without hearing my name". They broke up before she released The Fame. When making the music video for it, she met Taylor Kinney, who became her boyfriend after they finished filming lol. #FunFact, when this song was released to the radio, the song changed "Nebraska" to whatever state the song was playing in. Ex. Texas for Texas, Rhode Island for Rhode Island, etc.

@juke We should do a game where you list songs you think will be/were released as singles and we'll tell you if you were right!

Seeing you listen to the remixes makes me want you to check out Gaga's Dawn of Chromatica remix album. It's remixes of all the songs on Chromatica but with new featuring artists for each one! It really puts a new spin on all the songs =)
