Taylor Swift - Miss Americana (full movie) FIRST TIME REACTION
Added 2025-04-19 18:32:17 +0000 UTC
I can't believe we made it to the Miss Americana doc!! I've been anticipating this one since I started this journey. I can happily say that I gained even more respect and love for Taylor Swift after watching this movie. At this moment, I have "Fearless" as the next album up on our list. Are you excited? We'll finally be moving forward through the eras!! hahaha. I can't wait.
Hope you enjoy movie night with me!! 💙
I’m late to this game, but yes!!! I love that song!!

18:35 just want to tell you that Taylor had a collaboration with Kellie Pickler back then as well! It's called "Best Days of Your Life" and trust me, it's a banger!!!

You can do Reputation now, since she was finally able to purchase her original masters. 🤗

You definitely need to react to lover next and maybe later on watch the documentary again to fully appreciate lover

Ugh trying to decide which way to suggest continuing her discography is so difficult. I really want to suggest doing Lover next since you just watched Miss Americana, but I also really feel like Reputation and Lover should be next to each other (although considering we don’t even know when Rep TV will be out, it could be a while…)
Personally, it seems like you’re very committed to not listening to any stolen versions, but I feel like most swifties are totally fine with people reacting to stolen versions if the Taylor’s Version isn’t out yet. I understand wanting to wait though.
My only other suggestion is that if you end up doing Fearless next, it might be a good idea for you to watch Miss Americana again before you react to Reputation/Lover, even if it’s on your own time and not for a video, just as a refresher because it’ll probably have been months since you’ve seen it at that point. That way 1) you can listen to Rep and Lover consecutively, 2) you don’t have to react to a stolen version yet if you don’t want to, and 3) you’ll probably have forgotten about most of the songs you heard in this documentary if you don’t listen to them again between now and then. My only concern is that even though I personally like Lover, it’s probably one of the fans’ least favorite albums and could be a little anticlimactic if it’s your final old Taylor album reaction and you end up not liking it. But it’s really not a bad album, so that might not even be an issue at all, I don’t know.
Anyway, great reaction as always Danny, and I can’t wait for the next one!

Nikki Glaser actually apologize to Taylor for what she said in that video. She said when she watched Miss Americans she was so upset it was on there because she is a big fan

finished your reaction - definitely on the side of lover next, especially since you've heard bits of a lot of the songs. rep can go either way - most people pair it with lover because of 1) the 2016 kanye stuff and year of hiding after 1989 and 2) her relationship. but it's also on the side of the stolen albums. so whatever you feel is best!
(and fearless is my favorite album so while i would absolutely love to watch you listen to that as soon as possible, it just wouldn't be right lol)

before seeing this post I honestly thought you would listen to lover before watching the doc (that is on me for not reading your plan carefully lol). Before I started watching I was going to say to listen to lover next, then stick to the plan of going back to the beginning and doing rep last
Halfway through, I'm starting to agree with some other people - I would rec listening to lover and rep (personally i don't think order matters for context too much since you've watched this doc), then start with debut regardless of if taylor's version is out yet. I think listening to rep as it was originally released along with the tour movie and the making-of youtube series will help when the tv is released because you'll be able to catch lyrics, themes, etc. from the original and be able to spot vocal differences or production changes.
From there, starting with her first album is just going back to the beginning - it will give you a base from which to judge fearless (her songwriting gets noticeably stronger imo) and there is something extremely special about her singing those first songs as a teenager because thematically it's very age-specific. the one thing i miss about the original fearless release is hearing her voice then; it has much more of that "i'm a teenager and everything is very real to me right now", while the taylor's version gives more of a "i remember feeling this way but i can reflect on it and who i am today because of this", which is understandable but I would really say that listening to debut pre-tv release will only make you appreciate the rerecording that much more

I think you should do Lover next since you just got a glimpse of the writing process. Then fearless and then hopefully Rep and Debut TV will be out later this year.

You have such a beautiful soul and as a woman I can really appreciate that. I would love to see you react to Reputation, including the tour. You can go back and dive in once she releases Taylor’s Version. I’m loving your journey into the Swiftie world. She’s so amazing!!

I think you need to listen to Rep and then Lover. Then 1989. Them go back to fearless, speak now, red. I mean you are already in the Rep/Lover era watching this.

one reason of me enjoying taylor swift music reactions so much esp from men, is seeing them recognize her talent without prejudice. and see some positivity besides all the horrible things you’re seeing on twitter or other online spaces, just to know that not every person outside of my bubble is horrible. so thanks for doing what you‘re doing :)

My true swiftie era started with this documentary and then I did my own deep dive back then. Go for Rep then Lover imo.

I totally agree with you on politics and Trump. I'm so proud of Taylor using her platform to endorse candidates who represent her values. Hopefully, Ohio will help vote out these fascists losers next time.

One other bit of TayLORE, Juke: Regarding Taylor wearing the Rhianna shirt and her being a fan of Rhianna, Taylor actually wrote Rhianna's hit "This is What You Came For" with Calvin Harris, under the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg in 2016.

My opinion, I think you should do 1989, Rep, then Lover.

I'd definitely say go for reputation next, then Lover. You can always re-experience the whole album once the TV comes out. Great reaction btw

Completely agree with all of your commentary on this video. Thank you for being such a great voice on your platform. I'm so relieved people like you exist. It almost feels like the sane ones out there are scared to voice these thoughts publicly.
Also I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. I've lost too many of my furbabies over the last 10 years, sometimes from illness and others from age, and every loss hurts so much. Time will help with the pain but it never heals completely. She will be in your heart forever.

I think you will LOVE both Rep and Lover. They're great albums. Fearless has some great tracks, but for me it's more just nostalgic but I don't routinely go back to listen to it as a whole. So my vote is for Rep, even though TV isnt out, then Loved, since you watched the Documentary, I think you'll have a deeper appreciation for the albums now!

Juke, you are a man among boys. So wise and thoughtful and caring. That is the true strength of a man. I live in Germany half of the year and in Florida the other half (I’m a Midwest guy from Minnesota). Men like you are celebrated and expected in German culture. I wish men didn’t feel compelled to have the “strong man / over-dominant / barbaric nature that is portrayed and strived for in the US. Keep bringing your love and empathy. It is what sets you apart and your influence is growing quickly and offering a huge service and wake-up call.
I do suggest listening to Reputation next and then Lover. It’s not a crime to listen to Reputation before the Taylor’s Version. I don’t stream it much, but if you’re just listening and reacting to it once, the impact will is so very insignificant compared to the impact your reaction will be for Taylor and her fans. I believe that her emotion in the original can’t be replicated as this was her “Rising like a Phoenix” moment and she let it all lay bare. Just my personal suggestion.
