Genuinely one of the BEST songs ever

evalynn robertson

I love that part :)

Daniel Juke

I'll make sure to do that :)

Daniel Juke

Thanks! I give credit to Isabella for putting the list together and SO many comments requesting it haha it's a great song :)

Daniel Juke

She's very strong

Daniel Juke

I've been there as well and agree that's what I felt from the song. More than likely they're fighting a silent battle that they don't feel comfortable talking about to that person and that should be a sign for both to move on. That's no life to live. It's obviously always harder when in it though. Leaving is very hard. I could go on and on lol.

Daniel Juke

I'll check these out

Daniel Juke

Always my pleasure!! :)

I looove this song, ‘get your shit together so I can love you’❤️

Evgenia

Thank you very much 💙

Daniel Juke

Some of the songs I’ve re-listened to from TTPD definitely hit different now that I know more about her. And thank you 💙

Daniel Juke

You’re right! I forgot she mentioned that in the interview. I’m all for them to keep writing haha

Daniel Juke

💙💙💙

You could also watch the Trailer for "where the crawdads sing", before going to the Song. 😄 It would certainly help to understand the mood AND to see the Genius Taylor is, since she has written it especially for the book/movie. Or perhaps after reacting to the Song, to see if she's gotten you in the right mood 😁

Yonne Gärtner

Im looking forward to your Carolina reaction 😍 i love this Song so much, and i agree with another comment here, to have a bit of the Background of the book/Film and what it's about will definetely enhance the experience ♥️ because Taylor was inspired to to write the Song after reading the book, there's a short article about it on Billboard's Website 😊

Living for this

Gagachella is coming later today - stay tuned.

I hadn't heard this song before. Great find Danny!

Cynthia Long

It’s crazy to think that she released this song prior to the breakup yet nobody really put it together that she was struggling so hard with Joe. It’s such a sad song.

Isabel

I love this song. I feel like i’ve been on the other side of this song, being the one not letting anyone in. Honestly the moral of it is, as long as you are not okay with yourself and really down, you are not in a good place to be in a relationship with anyone. And in that place its better to let them go and not let them wait for something that can take forever. Only seen the video once before but it gives me fan made 07-08 videos and i kinda like it 😂 And agree, the instrumental in this is amazing

Isabella Peterson

Back in the 80s? Jack was born in 1984.. If we’re thinking of the same song that came out in 2012

Allie

Please tell me you have Gaga's coachella performance on your list to react to, it was amazing, I can send you the video if you need it

Yeah, I feel like people really focused on the teenage love triangle, and Taylor said how she created these characters but missed that in the foreword, she wrote, "I found myself writing not only my own stories (...)", so obviously, at least some songs were based on her own experiences and life. Personally, I'm not a fan of very strict interpretations of Taylor's songs. I don't believe every song can be assigned to a man in her life. I feel like she is willing to mash them up together for a song or even write about feelings she associates with them. Still, even then, the mood of Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights definitely suggested something was going on and I missed it.

Back in the 80s there was a song (very anthemic ) Entitled We Are Young was co written by a young Jack Antonoff and performed by the Group Fun which included Jack A. Take a listen. https://jack-antonoff.fandom.com/wiki/We_Are_Young

I agree it's weird now looking back at her lyrics and emotion in the music from Midnights on that it wasn't a huge red flag for her mental state. It's difficult though because she did say she was writing from outside perspectives and I think that's what a lot of people just took it as up until ttpd🥲

"Everyone go away my show is on"🫶🏻😂🍿 Thank you for keeping the Swifties fed with content😁🩷

Can't remember if I sent this already or not, but here's a Playlist of Taylor's voice memos from the tortured poets department till the 1989 era. I love them https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVKq2UxZDwdbJ3RTFLuix0CSa2y4wp4y9&si=ixCFz4MOlzGNIpAJ Now going to watch the reaction 🙏🤍

Tal

I was starting to wonder if this was about Joe, it would make so much sense if it is. We know Taylor was going through a lot of doubt towards the end of their relationship (from You’re Losing Me) and that Joe seemed to be dealing with some sort of mental health issues that affected their relationship (from So Long, London), so I feel like this song definitely fits in the timeline

Danny G

I love this song, but I never saw this music video. I agree with you; it was very distracting. When you think about the songs she put on Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights, as well as her collaborations with other artists, TTPD is a natural conclusion. I also find it fascinating that despite putting out some of her most depressing albums, no one seemed to have any idea that she was struggling.

malb901

Thank you, Juke!!! If you are planning on reacting to Carolina, I highly recommend quickly reading the synopsis of the movie before jumping into the song! It doesn't spoil anything and will help you appreciate the song more :) Also, please don't feel pressured to get these out quickly. We know you are exploring so many phenomenal artists concurrently, don't want you to burn yourself out 💛 We'll stick around, these reactions are worth the wait.

Nikki M

Carolina is just a Taylor song. It’s from the soundtrack of Where The Crawdads Sing. It’s so good, especially if you have seen the movie! Highly recommended

TiffK83

Our girl was struggling bad. You're gonna understand TTPD so much better and get a sense of her mental health once you revisit it after you're done through all the albums. BTW Juke this color looks so good on you!

Renegade fits perfect in the Joe narrative leading to You’re Losing Me and So Long, London.

Yes!!! One of my favorite Taylor written songs. I hold on to my truth that this was written around the same time as evermore, but it was so obvious and raw she kept it off the album and put it in BRM’s. In her evermore Zane Lowe interview u may recall she said they were writing and didn’t know exactly where the songs would end up. I remember where I was when I heard this for the first time. I knew then that she and Joe were not as ok as we thought previously. By the time I heard Bejeweled I was completely not shocked when they broke up.

me when danny posts a new taylor swift video: 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
