This doc navigates the life of Britney Spears from pre stardom to present day. Part 1 of the 7 episode series dives deep into the dark childhood of Britney Spears, her rise to fame & the abuses of the media during this time. As someone that grew up with Britney being THE superstar and having a ton of love for her, I've always wondered what happened for her to be put into a conservatorship. I'm aware of certain terrible things and people from her past and present, but these past few years there have been a strange amount of those weird instagram videos of her dancing with knives etc and I never understood what that was. I guess the documentary will get into that a little bit later on.
This episode is definitely triggering, so if you don't want your mood ruined, save it for another time or skip it. Much love.

Sorry to hear about your back story with your dad. I did not have this experience as my dad was quite responsible and loving to all of us. You seem to have turned out great thanks to your mom. I am sure you are very appreciative and a loving son to her.

The horrible way people vilified being queer and it being bad stole years of happiness from my life. I wish I felt safe to come out as a kid. It was horrible in my high school too. If someone even thought for a second a girl was gay they wanted us to shun them. Just fucking awful. My best friend was a gay boy at school and he would get beat up so I pretended to be his girlfriend for awhile in middle school even tho everyone could tell. Me, I look fem and no one knew I was queer.

They are always so incredibly informative, way more than these main stream documentaries go into (probably because in a bigger production like that people have connections and stakes with other people that they don’t wanna lose by exposing them.) I also am obsessed with the editing. I have pretty bad ADHD so this keeps my attention locked in lollll. I hope you check out some of the other videos on your own time or on the channel! Deep dive also was pretty involved with the free Britney movement and went out and protested and everything. This series really helped get the word out about the conservatorship.

2025-04-02 20:19:54 +0000 UTCAs one of the biggest Britney fans. I would say if you are going to get into her music. She’s more of the artist she gives off in the zone and onwards. Before that I would say doesn’t necessarily represent her as much. Like she was about to do a 2nd Vegas show in 2019 and all of the older songs were basically cut bc she didn’t wanna do those anymore. There was some older songs but all remixed. She’s very much in the zone, blackout, and glory. Those represent her as an artist the most.
