I needed this after evermore :)

Oh and you should totally do a review of the Eras Tour Movie!!

Lacey Torres

New subscriber here!! I am not sure if you have done a video for this or not yet BUT I highly recommend the music video for All Too Well (10 min version). It’s a literal movie.

Lacey Torres

no rush to leave this era, take your time! that being said every album is so different i think youll find something in each one. and you still have her early albums which are very much instrumental/story telling. i think red and speak now you will appreciate so much. 22 is a pop hit on Red but most of Red has a very different vibe not quite like folklore but similar vibes at times.

Caroline

Firstly, thank you for paying respects to Tay as an artist and huge historical figure in our lives bc ur totally correct! We're lucky to be alive during her reign. She's one in a million! Too many people forget! Everyone (esp her haters) needs to put some respect on her name haha. If you love folklore/evermore you will like RED and Speak Now, and maybe even some of fearless & debut! I also def think you will find stuff you like on her poppier albums too (Rep, 1989, even Lover) since you liked Midnights so much! Just from watching your reactions I have to say I know you're going to like Red a lot! It's her true heartbreak album and the writing is good af.

Isa

Agreed! Danny, you missed out on Taylor's cute expression and whimsy recognition of Jack and Aaron at the end. Very minor critique, but you're missing out bro, haha!

MeideBison

Don’t worry, there’s something truly special from every era of hers! You’ll enjoy them all, I’m sure of it! Especially with how much you appreciate her already! That being said - I can say as a Swiftie since her debut album, folklore does hold a special place in my heart. The surprise of her announcing an album the day before it dropped. And I’ll never forget staying up to watch the music video for cardigan and listening to it for the first time thinking “what is this?!” Just so unlike her previous work but absolutely captivating. I was just obsessed.

Nicole Briz

I completely agree, Eras Tour needs to be the last thing Juke dives into (at least with all the stuff Taylor has out up until now) for all the reasons you mentioned. It will be a long wait, but it will be worth it and we have so many other things to look forward to before that with the rest of her albums, tours and performances.

monika

If you're not ready to leave the Evermore Era, you're in luck! There's a live version of Evermore she does on piano that is absolutely breathtaking. You'd love it. Also, there are Eras Tour performances of Willow, Marjorie, and Champagne Problems that are good. Also - there is an EXCELLENT interview about the writing of Evermore with Zane Lowe that would be a great reaction imo.

Ivy

Yes he does!

Michelle Schwartz

Doesn't Aaron have a twin brother in The National?

Cynthia Long

Me too!

Cynthia Long

sir why do you never let the video play till the end 😂 it stresses me out whenever you stop the video before it's done 😂🩷

taylor

Can’t wait for u to react her eras tour willow performance..it’s so magical and whimsical like u said

Shafiq

Also, you should check out the surprise songs from the Eras Tour when she was in Cincy…on night 1 she does one of the best surprise song versions of Evermore I’ve ever heard! On night 2 she brought out Aaron and Gracie Abrams!

Michelle Schwartz

I’m so glad I found your videos on YouTube and made my way here! Just a heads up that The National and Aaron Dessner are born and raised in Cincinnati!! I look forward to you checking them out!!

Michelle Schwartz

These really are great albums. But don't worry, all of her albums have songs like this with great story telling and instrumentation. Even her first album was so mature for her age songwriting wise. I really think you're gunna love all of them!

Holly Vickers

As much as I want the eras tour reaction asap, I think for him to fully appreciate it for what it is, he should wait to react to it until he's gone through all of her eras. As much as it will pain me to wait that long, I think the reaction will be so much more impactful once he listens to all of her albums and watches more of her old performances/concerts. That way he will be able to pick up on more of the nods to her past eras.

Eva Warwick

13:17 - the best part of this performance, the key, the vocals, the dancing and, of course, Willow — so dreamy. Oh Evermore...

Cooler Fan

Taylor and Joe’s love story survived six of the most turbulent, transformative years for her. He saw the real Taylor we didn’t get to see behind closed doors where she was the most vulnerable before, during, and after those life-altering betrayals. I see him as a quiet, gentle spirit, albeit private but supportive, and can imagine their creativity together. Others may see that she may have been too generous in crediting his contributions to her music, but having someone deeply embedded with you through the pain means they listen and offer words of hope that she may have, in conjunction with him as she stated, incorporated into her lyrics. She was in love, but she also gave credit where it was due. 🥰 ps…Hope to hear your reaction to RED TV next.

Jacqueline Goon

Ah! There was still 30 secs left on the video 😂

SharonM

This performance by Taylor was exceptional!

Cynthia Long

We Were Happy x Happiness Surprise Song mashup is sooo good. We Were Happy is a vault song from the Fearless album but it definitely works in the Folklore/Evermore era.

Jordan

What i love about Taylor is that she changes with her music eras. If she’s cute, shes cute, bohemian she embodies that, sexy or fun or serious, she shows it in her performances. You are going to love this journey and see the difference in eras from now on. I love watching you so much! Also these are the beatles are so funny to me because i think of the epic video of Paul McCartney dancing with some swifties on the eras tour. Its so epic, generations coming together with great music 👏🏻

Isabella Peterson

Yes, i second this - the alcott, renegade and Carolina are so awesome, i really hope you can make a reaction to these Songs ♥️ perhaps also in one Video. 😍 Oh and gasoline with the haim Sisters would also fit musically to these ♥️ I love the Videos of you reacting to Taylor , the longer the better ♥️🥰

Yonne Gärtner

And to me, especially at her age now, I think her aura is ✨love, light, whimsy, and intellect✨

Kenz

I think one of, if not THE thing that separates Taylor from the others at her level is how genuine, real, and relatable she is or seems to be. Despite being a billionaire and presumably living an unattainable (to the masses) life, which in reality puts her in an entirely separate class from the majority of the world, she still feels like a real human, with real human flaws, and real relatable feelings. She writes about things that are so tangible, because of the detail in storytelling, that I feel like she actually sees humanity for what it is, which is a world of emotions at its core. She never lost her sense of reality, so her reach is so far because people really do relate to her and feel seen by the words she writes— and that’s human nature! We all want to be seen! Ugh, anyway… love her, love you, love swifties!! 😂🫶🏼

Kenz

I had been a swiftie for over ten years when folklore/evermore came out and I also was not ready to move on from these albums! Honestly it’s like Taylor had to drag me kicking and screaming into the Midnights era when it first dropped lol I will say though, judging based on how much you’ve seemed to like these two albums, I think your next favorite (and my personal favorite) will be Speak Now. It’s just such a special project and, although it’s coming from a much younger Taylor, it’s entirely self-written and keeps that “whimsical” feeling, due to the aesthetic of the album being somewhat fairytale-inspired. Although her first two albums were very good for someone of her age at the time, I feel like Speak Now is where she really honed her skills as a songwriter, and hardly has any skippable tracks imo. Lot’s of live instrumentation in her early work too, maybe not as full and rich as some of the sounds we heard on folklore and evermore, but still really good! I’ll also say the Speak Now vault tracks are some of my favorites too

Danny G

I see your point re: Carolina. There's an "Official Visualizer" with the full version (4:24) on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q94kA7llGw but doesn't have lyrics

Tinwhistle

I soooo agree with you about the way Jack and Aaron change their tones when it comes to Joe, and wholly agree that it's because they are protective of Tay and her heart❤️❤️ Can't wait for you to see the Eras Tour🥹

I have watched all of your Taylor reactions and I started to leave a comment on your Evermore album reaction but I learned the hard way that Patreon erases comments when you navigate away from the app mid-comment 😩🤦🏻‍♀️but i digress: You have legit become my favorite Taylor reactor. Your open and kind heart, your willingness to be vulnerable and show empathy, your care and thoughtfulness, and unwavering respect for Taylor (and other artists too, she’s just my all-time favorite) is so pure and sweet to watch. You are a rare gem of a person with a good heart and a kind soul and it’s so refreshing and encouraging to see anywhere (internet or otherwise) these days. Thank you for doing what you do!

Stevie Penelope

I love this Era. Taylor was such a lifeline during the Pandemic years. Danny, you've got so much TS content to cover, I'm afraid it will take YEARS. I think I recall you mentioning a strategy for going through the different eras. I've watched a few others try to do this and 2 years was about average. However, despite having listened to her albums, concerts, interviews, etc., their retention is quite poor. Most reactors just use TS to generate traffic, typical of "reaction channels". What is the strategy for your TS journey after this era? Are you working forward to where you started from and then going back to the beginning? This would make sense since you've already covered Folklore/Evermore/Midnights/TTPD. In that case, Lover would would be next, which would complete her timeline since leaving Big Machine. You could then go back to the first 6 Eras (2006-2018): Debut, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation. We're also likely to see her final 2 re-recordings, Debut and Reputation, this year (Her first and last albums during her 13-yr contract with Big Machine).

Tinwhistle

I’m so glad you’re taking your time with this Taylor Swift deep-dive but, MY GOD, I can’t fucking wait for you to watch the Eras Tour!!! 😂 This is just a small taste of what’s to come. ❤️

Tyler Ward

Sent a fan her own jacket when they said they liked it. She is a generous and a kind soul and she has never let her fame change that about her.

Aastha Sharma

I love this since Paul McCartney is always so full of praise for Taylor. 🥰

Michelle A

But also trying to figure out a good place where he should watch the eras tour?

Michelle A

This was such a fun reaction! I love how you so openly crush on her. The more you get to know about her as a person, you’ll find she’s truly as beautiful on the inside as well. You’ll fall fully in love and you’ll forever have her as a huge favorite. She has consistently over her career spent time with children in hospitals, surprised her fans with Christmas gifts (she wrapped herself), given her fans secret listening sessions at her own houses, and shown up randomly at fans’ bridal showers and wedding receptions to surpise them. She’s a giver. Not to mention how her tour positively impacts the economy of each city it goes to, so much that she had presidents of countries request her to come there. And in each city she also donates enough to local food banks to keep them supplied for years. Long story short, she’s the best. Do not be afraid of the rest of the eras!!! While folklore/evermore is wonderful, every single era has absolute gems in it. Even with the radio hits you mentioned, wait until you see how much depth each of those albums contains. And there is so much lovely extra content with each era (her Grammy museum performance for 1989, her tiny desk performance for Lover, her playing “Better Man” at the Bluebird Cafe for Red … all so good). Oh, and just wait until you react to Lover Live from Paris! I promise each era comes with lovely surprises, Taylor never misses.

Michelle A

I agree with this plan!

Michelle A

Taylor was never marketed as gorgeous or sexy. She even said herself in her earlier interviews "My life doesn’t gravitate towards being edgy, sexy or cool. I just naturally am not any of those things. […] I’m imaginative, I’m smart and I’m hardworking. And those things are not necessarily prioritized in pop culture” She has been body shamed and slut shamed, dismissed as a singer/songwriter since the begining of her career and that narrative hasn't changed. It's so sweet to see you praise her and appreciate her in every video. Live performance from Eras Tour worth checking out: Evermore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et_jAB8P7W4 Cowboy Like Me with Marcus Mumford https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTvzFTlyg-4 Right Where You Left Me with Aaron https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US5mm6yfr_A You're gonna see Taylor messing up the lyrics here!

Aastha Sharma

I'm not sure what your exact plan for the next Taylor album/movie reactions is but I have a suggestion: I think you should watch her documentary next (I think you mentioned that was your plan). It will give you a lot of background on what happened to her during 2016-2017. And I know you said before that you wanted to start from the beginning of her discography after the doc but I would really suggest going into Reputation, since the documentary will give you all the context you need for that album. Then after Reputation I would go into Lover, since the doc also follows her making the Lover album. After all that I think it's safe to go back to the beginning.

Eva Warwick

I also didn't want to leave the Folkmore Era. There is something special about it. I don't know if it's because Folklore/Evermore were the first Taylor's albums that truly gripped me or if it's because of the time they came out when we were all locked in our homes and longing for something to escape the bleak reality. I'm glad to hear you're planning to listen to "The Alcott". Hopefully, you will also check "Renegade". As for surprise songs, I will once again recommend the mashup of Cassandra X Mad Woman X I did something bad. This is me trying X Labyrinth is also an interesting combination, and you have already heard both songs. Oh, and also, "Carolina". It's a song for a movie, but it fits the vibe of Folklore and Evermore.

malb901

Just to make it easier here are the songs that fit the folkmore vibe that she released around the same time as both of these albums: - renegade - The Alcott - Gasoline - Birch - Carolina (please do the full version on Spotify)

Jenny V

I love how passionate you are about your taylor’s deep dives. it’s contagious! 💙

Haizathoho Jr

"I am telling my kids these are the Beatles" hahaha so real, me too 🤣

monika

Please protect this man at all costs 🥹🫶 Your kindness, open-mindedness, and the way you embrace music (and people) without judgment is truly special. The world needs more of that. Please never change, I hope life gives you back all the love and kindness you put into the world 🤍

Nikki M

Dude I cannot appreciate enough how much attention to detail you give her work. I find with so many other creators that they are missing out on the deeper meanings in her art because they don't understand the lore. No hate to them whatsoever because I totally understand that it's tough to get everything on the first listen, especially with Taylor's music. However, you put more effort into understanding her work more than any other creator I have encountered and it makes me so happy to see someone engage with her art in the same way I do and appreciate the small details that Taylor puts into her work. It's also so refreshing to see you openly admitting that you find her attractive. You'd be surprised how many people are too scared to admit it which is shocking given how obviously beautiful she is. Anyways, I just love how genuine your content is and I think Taylor would really appreciate the effort you are taking to understand her work. I'm also deeply invested in your Gaga deep dive (I can't wait until you react to born this way)

Eva Warwick

I love how every reactor does not want to leave the folkmore era, it’s just so cosy and comforting but don’t worry, you’ll get a lot out of each era!

Jenny V

Actually I believe he’s going back now, so it’ll be fearless. He doesn’t want to do debut or reputation until Taylor’s versions come out! Unless he’s changed his plans that is 😂 but even so lover would be next if we’re going backwards.

Jenny V

Each era is great in its own right. You will be stunned by Reputation. That will be your next.

Sandy Bourdeau

Great reaction as always! I cannot wait for you to watch her tours because her singing live seems to make the songs even better.

Pam Delpapa

“these are my beatles” so true im crying lol

cassidy

my show is on again 🤩
