Billie, like Bey, Troye Sivan, Mariah Carey, etc… is one of those artists whose music has genuinely affected me in a positive way. I keep up with everything regarding my TRULY favorite artists, but I could never be one of those crazed fans like Billie in “THE DINER” 😂

You have no idea how much these comments help and how much more enjoyable it is for me to go back and listen to the songs you describe without having to breakdown everything myself. You really paint a vivid picture. I gotta say I'm pretty curious how you know this info. Are you actually Finneas or Billie pretending to be Dennis? 2024-05-17 22:09:28 +0000 UTCFirst of all, THANK YOU for always caring enough to look at the lyrics when they’re available. 😂 You’re actually able to know what’s going on lyrically and share your two cents while still being able to appreciate the production. “What Was I Made For?” is actually her 2nd Oscar. She won earlier for her Bond song “No Time To Die”. Long story short, I’m fine with either this album or COWBOY CARTER winning AOTY at the Grammys next year. They both deserve it. Finneas & Billie wrote and produced everything together, but they brought in an orchestra for the strings and a drummer for the live drums WILDFLOWER - Billie dated Jesse Rutherford from “The Neighbourhood” a while back, but it was after he broke up with his ex… who happened to be Billie’s best friend! Billie consoled her after the breakup, so she felt guilty for falling in love with him. I live for Messy Billie!! 😂 Seriously though, opinions on what she did aside, I need that kind of honesty from artists! L’AMOUR DE MA VIE - You’re correct! The title is French for “Love of my life”. The second half of that song was a separate song called “Over Now” initially. Billie wanted to make it a full song, but Finneas convinced her that it would be better if they just left it as is (1 min long) and added it to the end of another song, so that’s what they did. I would love a full version of “Over Now”, but I ain’t mad lol. THE DINER - She’s indeed writing from the perspective of a stalker. It’s probably her way of calling out the crazy fans who go after celebrities (female celebs especially). She and Finneas write from other perspectives all the time btw! There’s a song on her debut EP called “Bellyache” where she sings about murdering her friends and committing a robbery. She was 15! 😂 Couldn’t agree more with you on the sexy atmosphere throughout. She’s 22 now and maturing beautifully as an artist imo! BITTERSUITE - the title is spelled as a hotel suite, so you could be right. Billie always likes to leave her lyrics open to interpretation. Messy Billie strikes again! Lmao Billie said last night that she filmed almost the entire album being made, so I’m really hoping we get a documentary soon!! Their goal with this album was to make a project as if the two of them were the only ones who would ever hear it. That’s why there was no single, and I freaking LOVE how experimental it is in parts. I hope they inspire everyone else, especially in pop, to have that “screw the radio & charts, I’ll do what I want” attitude. Love the plaid btw, it’s giving hunky lumberjack! 😁
