Hey Jeannie, try not to hold your breath as you do your reps. If you exhale while the focus muscle is contracting and inhale while the muscle is relaxing, it will help stabilize your core and helps your stamina as you workout. It also helps avoid spikes in your blood pressure. β€οΈπ

Since everyone enjoys training advice, well maybe not during training and unsolicited, but here goes anyway: Someone made a point about not going past parallel when doing squats as going too low can be hard on the knees, but my comment is about how most people use the safety bars in the power rack by having them way too low if they actually need them if they can't go back up if they attempt one too many reps ! My suggestion is to have the safety bars only 2 inches below your lowest position in the squat so that if you do need them you don't end up panicking as you go down a lot lower than desirable before the safety stops stop you ! Also, you can safely and deliberately do that one too many reps but not end up squished !
