This is someone who didn't respect my boundaries on my Patreon, and continues to harass me. This person DM'd me here excessively with a tone I didn't like. This is my space, my boundaries are mine, and I'm free to enforce them, and that includes blocking paying subscribers if they make me feel unsafe or harassed in my own space.
Parasocial relationships are a very real thing, and it's not a bad idea for people who support content creators to self-monitor for signs that their appreciation is crossing into unhealthy obsession. Self-reflection and emotional regulation are so important, and this person is showing me how much they are suffering by how they treat me. I'm truly sorry for him.
Please take care of yourself, and be kind to others. In the words of Ram Dass, we're all just walking each other home.

It’s ok to be overwhelmed by emotions; it’s never ever ok to take them out on you like this. You make abundantly clear your boundaries and the conditions of this wonderful space that you have created. It’s our privilege, and nothing else, to be part of it. We as listeners have the responsibility to understand this, respect your boundaries, and not to deceive ourselves: your work is extremely powerful and evokes strong emotions and creates powerful emotional experiences. But you don’t have any responsibility towards our management of these experiences, and that is for us to realize. If we can’t manage our emotions properly then this space is simply not for us. Thank you so much for your work. I hope fools like this don’t take away from your creative drive, and that responsible and respectful listeners make it worth your while.
