2021-06-04 21:58:25 +0000 UTCis there any drawback to disabling segment processing, apart from the files taking space on the hard drive?

2021-06-04 21:17:23 +0000 UTCoh, it was 20% for me, but maybe i accidentally downloaded the beta? anyway, keep up the good work, waifu2x extension is the only gui for waifu2x i use. Even tho dandere2x is potentially faster, it dosen't really allow me to "pause" the upscale and resume at a later date.

2021-06-03 15:01:25 +0000 UTCIn the latest version (this version), the default tolerance percentage of speed boost is 13%.

2021-06-03 14:52:04 +0000 UTCi have a 1060 6gb and an i7-7700 atm, planning on upgrading both but with the gpu shortage and all it's likely gonna have to wait until 2022. from testing i haven't noticed frame analysis process taking too long (tho i'm sticking with the default segment processing), i guess my main worry would be that i end up with stuttering in the final result, which would mean i'd have to redo the whole thing. how sensitive is the frame analysis program by default? like, i know it's 20%, but not sure exactly what that means in practice. i lowered it to 8% to be on the safe side, i'll probably just do more testing. thanks, and sorry if the questions are dumb.

2021-06-03 13:49:13 +0000 UTCAnyway, if the spec of your PC is balanced and the video you wanna process contains duplicate frames (which is very common in anime video), the speed boost should be working as intended.
Aaron Feng
2021-06-03 13:29:48 +0000 UTCWell, if your video don't have any duplicate frames or you have a "super slow cpu+super powerful GPU" system, it will slow down the processing. There are no other drawbacks that I have noticed.

2021-06-03 13:12:37 +0000 UTCany drawbacks to it, aside from the risk of stuttering?

2021-06-03 12:14:21 +0000 UTCNO, I used a more simplified and faster method to reach better performance on low end hardware.

2021-06-02 23:50:24 +0000 UTCis the speed boost feature anything like dandere2x?
