High Priestess Birdie

Raff finally admits his feelings to Birdie, right before they face the BBEG because of course. She doesn't initially respond because she's so surprised because he doesn't just admit it... he drops the love word. During the battle, Raff unfortunately is wounded, yet again losing the chance for renown and fame, but for important reasons as to save his team. Birdie in a rush to aid him, but it is too severe. He gets his hero's death, for the greater good... 

Only for Birdie to freak out, kicking screaming cursing finally using her true focus i.e. rage and for the first time ever revives someone. She has never successfully done it before, but she does so now. Raff lives to see another day, and faces the consequences of being impaled aka a long healing journey, but is lauded a hero finally, and the concequences of telling your bestie you love them. Birdie admits she loves him too, and they have a very happy moment until shes just randomly zapped out of said moment and suddenly before her goddess because she FINALLY was able to do the last piece of her clerical training and has been chosen to represent said goddess on the material plain.... aka high priestess due to her skill + severe anger issues.

Obviously she sends a call/sending back  to say 'I am totally ok and just need to do some stuff don't worry about me hahaa....' which to Raff is immediately suspicious and the party goes on their next adventure, Rescue their Cleric. They get there and are slowly separated until finally Raff is able to find another giant ass lady to give him directions. Which turns out to be the new high priestess.

It's a little awkward, and Raff realizes she is finally accomplishing her dreams, aka becoming a great cleric, and while she isn't sure how long she will be here, or that she will ever be able to come home... He agrees that this is a great honor, and the highest a cleric can achieve... and she should do what makes her happiest, not what anyone else wants, including himself or the party or her, to pick herself and enjoy her success. They go their separate ways to avoid Raff being squashed because non-followers aren't allowed in the temple. The party goes home, sans cleric... Situationship status... terminated. But what can you do when your crush  becomes high priestess and 50 feet tall ya know. He told her to call him but is doubtful that will happen.

Obviously Birdie tumbles down the mountain after them because she IS a great cleric, she IS a great healer, but she is not a good high priestess... too much drama. She has accomplished her goals so it's time to return to her true joy of being a rowdy, drunk adventurer with her friends because her true goal was to actually have friends. Nothing is brought up again until they get to the next town, and during everyone's down time Birdie asks Raff on their first 'official' date.

5 years later they are married, and she still has to go annually but now he can go because hes technically the spouse of priestess but he doesn't cause the other priestesses are too mean to him and try to squish him :c
