I explain the print and it’s situation a little bit in the video, but I guess I’ll go ahead and write a bit about it in case you don’t feel like watching!
The GOOD news is my PC is up and running and can run the programs I need to 3D print! With some trial and error I was able to get pieces for the print shown above.
The BAD news is that the printer emits these fumes that I can’t take anymore. They make me feel dizzy and even worse, make it a little hard to breath. It’s not worth risking my health, so I’ll have to put off printing until I can find a way to ventilate the fumes in our small apartment. This print just needed one more main piece to complete it too! I am honestly SO bummed that I can’t print while I work anymore, but I figured it’s better I catch these symptoms now and watch my health before something worse could have happened. Printing will be on hold again but I have some clay figures to work on and I’m ready to get back into them!

I saw this comment back when you made it and now I’m back to respond haha!! I have a new ventilation set up that I’m about to post but I think ideally I should get an enclosure like the acrylic box you mention! Right now I’m just venting fumes directly out but I would feel much more secure with an enclosure. That’ll be my next upgrade in time (: also thank you for the detail comment! I’m looking forward to making more detail figures overall!

2021-06-12 21:59:54 +0000 UTCWhen I attended some 3D printing classes back in collage, we used to get these fumes when printing as well ( I think that comes from the printing materials when melting down by the machine?) So what we did at first is simply place the machine outside the classroom until it was done printing. After getting tired of moving the machine every time, we had someone customized an acrylic box for it and attached an exhaust fan to the box so the fumes can go outside. I'm not sure if you can vent these fumes directly out of the window though. Or maybe it'd be better to change the printing material that made less fumes.
