[News] Monthly Roundup - September 2025! Plus Sneak Peeks for Next Month!

Hey all - welcome back to another monthly roundup! Today I want to share what we got up to in the month of September 2025! Let's get right into it!

Tome of Maps: Dungeon Edition FoundryVTT Module

Towards the start of the month, this release came out for all Archmage Patreon members. I think that this is one of my favourite modules that I've made for Foundry, for one reason only - the tile system that allows you to build your own custom dungeon using all of the dungeon maps I made for the original book!

Mini Maps 2

Here I released 10 mini maps (all 20x20 or smaller) themed around fantasy, sci-fi and modern themes. Free members got access to 2 maps, all paid members to 7, and then long term supporters got a bonus 3 maps. I won't pop them all here but here are my favourites!

Tobias' Terrible Guide To Survivin' 'n' Thrivin' in Dungeons!

Tobias' Terrible Guide To Survivin' 'n' Thrivin' in Dungeons was the next release for all at Mage Master and above tiers. This is a system-agnostic zine for dungeon design totalling 28 pages.

Topics include: What is a dungeon, adventure hooks/quests, building an NPC, monster design, traps, puzzles, items, and even a bit on dungeon layout and mapmaking! In between each section I've also included dungeon spotlights written from the perspective of Tobias, a crazy necromancer who can summon anything BUT undead! Here is a little sneak peek of one of these dungeon spotlights:

Modern Maps...Let's Talk About Roads!

This featured a random ramblings post about making roads in modern maps BUT also included A LOT of highway maps made by the AMAZING Ana from a day at for those at Mage Master and above. Thanks to Ana again for being a fantastic and kind person. <3

Fantasy To Sci-Fi Dungeons

Next, I released another 6 dungeon maps alongside 3 pre-built dungeons for paid members. I think that the dwarven forge one is my favourite, but I also have a soft spot for the lunar dungeons as I recently wrote a oneshot based on it. :D

Rise of the Unbread

And finally, we are starting to get into Spooky Season with a relevant spooky-themed oneshot - Rise of the Unbread! This oneshot is suitable for 4-6 players of level 4, meaning we have released 3x oneshots for ALL level 1-5, which is kinda crazy to think about. This is available to all paid members.

Sneak Peaks for the Month Ahead!

For the past few months, I've been experiencing a period of burnout and while my maps haven't suffered in terms of looks, I've not really felt in the mood for mapmaking...one of the worst being the Gothic Mansion. I love how it looks but didn't really enjoy making it.

BUT this is one thing I want to change - I want to make maps I enjoy making again. The mini maps release at the start of the month really helped with that! :D

And with this, the next release (10th October) is going to have some autumnal/fall themed maps - here's a sneak peek of one that I plan to make an autumn variant of!
