Hey all, welcome back to another release. It is a BIT late but to be fair, I am really happy with the results. I JUST handed in my 25,000 word report and managed to get this release finalised shortly after. Now I need a big nap XD.
Anyway, TODAY is the long anticipated "Fallen Sky City" release, containing 5 new BASE battlemaps for the collection. I will be honest, I had absolutely NO idea how to approach this and my brain just could not decide what to do. It is probably one of the harder releases I've ever made!

One thing I DEFINITELY wanted was these HUGE astral rifts ripping apart the ground. I wanted to use the astral void texture from the default Dungeondraft assets, although the smooth blending didn't give me the "sharp" edge I desired. So I turned it into a pattern in an asset pack and went from there. The outline of these rifts is actually a "snow" path from one of Skront's packs. XD
Another thing was the initial final map. I took one look at it and went, "That just looks like some random ruins in the forest. So, I simply 'lifted' all of these assets from the ground with lots of rocks, to make it look like the island had crumbled to pieces. I think overall, it came together quite well!
As some of you may know, I provide additional variations of my maps, which are available to all paid members. However, I wanted to showcase them here because I think the "evil" variation is just so cool! It looks like rifts to hell, rather than the astral plane, are opening up, and it just tells such a different story to the original map.

The same case is for the other variations here - where the rain and fog, to me, feel more mysterious and is in a more passive state of ruin. The "fey" one interestingly feels more of an opening to a plane of water! Nonetheless, I hope my discussion here has sparked some ideas for sessions. ;)
And finally, I just wanted to share the file downloads for everyone:
Free Member JPG Maps (Watermarked)
Adept Arcanist JPG Maps (All Variations)
Mage Master+ DD2VTT and FoundryVTT Module
I hope that you enjoy this release as much as I liked making it! And a special thank you for all of your patience while I needed to focus on my PhD. It was very much needed!
