Nikki's New Doo Poll - Round 1

We'll be starting with six options. Please select your favorite!
Unless there is a clear winner (70% or more of the vote) there will be a second round pitting the top contenders against each other.

She's trying not to drowning while grabbing the easiest thing she can within reach. Nikki is stubborn past the point of self destruction.

TBH, Emory, none of them look good when Nikki looks so (1) pissed, (2) sad, (3) "zombie-ish," (4) disengaged, (5) angry (again), and (6) shocked. Perhaps when you get to the final showdown (looks like it'll be #1 vs #2) you can lighten up on Nikki's dour mood... maybe a slight smile might hint at which of the top two Nikki likes best.

This style looks, as others have said, still very cute and and not too far removed from her current hairstyle and, at the same time clearly more feminine. I also believe that as it grows it will align nicely with Nikki’s increasing feminine presentation and other ongoing changes in her developing psyche. It would also be a shame to hide the way that one of her cute ears can be seen. This,as I said looks so cute and feminine and I can only imagine how pretty this will further look when her ears are adorned by some pretty ear rings.

Anything too drastic would definitely cause her to backslide! But that doesn't mean she can't be coaxed along to something more glam down the line. 😉

2024-12-06 22:19:47 +0000 UTCI know a lot of people are voting for #1 now, some because it is the longest and others because it resembles Nikki's Mom's hair from when she was young. I think that would be a marvelous tribute if Nikki's Mom had passed away. I think it would be cuter if Nikki waited and maybe grew her hair out with her Mom and then go and get the same hair style together. A real Mother-Daughter moment. And if I can be really cheesy, sappy, or "Hallmark Channelly" maybe they even enter a Mother-Daughter pageant together!?! If that is too much for your story line, then maybe it could be a non-canonical extended pin-up series between episodes???

Audrey Hepburn had her classic style, and that's a bit TOO fancy (for now - future high-society event? Would look great!) For what's there - choice is 2. The waves in 1 just - they're not my choice. 5 is good. 6 looks - ugh. 4 is nice, but looks older. So - my choice is 2. (but someday I want to see her glam up, maybe like Brigitte or Audrey!)

2024-12-06 21:52:21 +0000 UTCEmory, wow, that was a tough choice. All the hair styles are beautiful and Nikki looks amazing with all of them! I do hope we get to see Nikki wearing several of these over time as the story continue to play out. You made it extremely difficult to have to choose just one. Ultimately I chose #2. It is pretty much her current hair style only slightly longer and a little more cleaned up. My reason for this is because hair style is a pretty large expression of personality and projecting to the world how one sees themselves. And as we saw in Episode 47 Nikki is really confused right now about how she sees herself and how she fits in. As beautiful as each of these hair styles look on Nikki, each projects a very unique personality that I don't think Nikki is ready to embrace just yet. Plus her support network is still forming and I think they will play a big role in a decision like hair style. Right now just getting Nikki, who already does not recognize herself in the mirror to go on this spa day and get hair, nails and makeup done was HUGE!!! Kudos to Sandy! But I do not think she is ready to come out looking totally changed just yet. Just embracing basic elements of femininity in this outing would be a major victory. Plus whatever hair style she chooses is going to come with it's own care and maintenance regime. I just don't think Nikki is up yet for hair blowers, curling irons, flat irons, teasing combs, hair spray, etc... At least not at this moment. Baby steps. So I think this time the style still has be be pretty simple and easy to manage. Then there is also the fact Nikki still has to come home to her Dad after the date. He is already pretty down on her for how she looks now. What will he say with a much more dramatic and feminine hair style? Unless that is your vehicle for getting Nikki to move back in with her Mom??? However I don't think you have to wait too long for another hair style change. Once she has moved back in with her Mom and had time to really bond with Sandy, Jessica, Lauren and Evie, once Sandy gets them all in on the plan. I think post date, post bonding, post possibly another shopping spree this time for school cloths, that a new hair style to start the school year with might work as a sign of Nikki's growing acceptance of and comfort with her feminine self. So that the hair style choice truly is conscious self expression, and a sign of her commitment to embracing her new identity. Even then though I don't think it should be too extreme, possibly 3, 5 or 6? Once Nikki has fully accepted her new identity and is living her best self in it, then I think you can go crazy with the hair styles if you like. Because as they say "its a woman's prerogative to change her mind... and her hair style"! LOL!!!!!
