Jack & Jill - Phase 9, Part 1

Previously, on "Jack & Jill" ...

Phase 9 of Jack & Jill is starting! 💖

I wanted the premiere of Phase 9 to be big, so the first episode is 37 pages!

I've attached the Dramatis Personae below in case you need a refresher on the characters - because there's a lot of them in this episode.

I'm so excited to be starting Phase 9, and also a little nervous. I can't wait to hear what you think.

Thank you, Stacy! Yeah, time flies when you're transforming guys into girls. 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Wow I can't believe we are in to phase 9 :-0......great writing in this :-) x

stacy C

Thank you, Nina! 💖Yeah, I was excited about my "flash forward" idea. A little glimpse into the future of the story to hopefully whet everyone's appetite for what's to come. I'm glad it seems to have worked! 😊

Emory Ahlberg

excited to see where this goes! it definitely feels like the series finale with the jump forward part at the beginning! felt like i was watching a tv show! super hyped! great work em!!

Nina

Thank you, ckarya! 💖 I'm so happy that you enjoyed the season premiere! You're right that there are a lot of characters converging on the island. Phase 9 will have a more tension / action than the psychological drama of the past phases. Although there will be plenty of that, as well. I have this one planned out carefully - so hopefully it'll be as thrilling and exciting as you're imagining! 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Robert!!! 💖💖💖 Jill's had a brutal journey, but she has ultimately emerged as a strong, beautiful woman, in every sense of the word. Even Xu calls her "my dear girl" - seems he has a bit of a fondness for her. 😉

Emory Ahlberg

I loved your comprehensive thoughts on the first episode of Phase 9, Tim! Your speculations on what led them to the surgery room are very good. Jill is also wearing her dress from the competition, so it must not have been too long ago! Regarding your comments on the timeline sync with "Half Sisters," it's observations like these that make your input so valuable. I'm trying to carefully consider how each piece of the "Xu-niverse" fits together, and you'll see more connections as the stories unfold. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

A spectacular start to the new season/phase. With this shot received, I hope Xu tells Jill about his past, that's something that has me with the fly behind the ear..... I think the format you've chosen to tell this Phase 9, with the countdown of the hours and so many characters on the island, is going to be a real madness: shooting, action, thriller... wow!

ckarya

Jill’s expressions in those early panels show so many contrasting and contradictory emotions - such superb and subtle art, Emory. Everything from shock and disbelief, through calm and determination and on to doubt and uncertainty, as the world she’s known for the last few years could be on the verge of collapse. And what then for her? She’s become a confident woman, comfortable in her skin, but out in a world that’s no longer controlled by Xu and his goons, how will she actually fare? Is she really psychologically prepared for such a massive change? It’s a truly magnificent sequence, Emory. Hats off. xxx

It's interesting that you open in the same operating room where Jill got her orchie. That tells me that during the previous 45 hours Jill won the Coming Out event and was about to receive her "prize" for winning the competition (becoming the woman she is meant to be?) when Mr. Xu was shot. It also appears that while Jill's operation may have been interrupted, Xu is adamant that they "must focus on the task at hand," which could mean proceeding with the surgery as planned, or could now mean fending off the attack that led to his being shot. Above all, they must protect Jill, his prized possession, but from whom?... powerful rivals or Jill's rescuers? And when Xu says, "This is -- at long last -- the end," does it necessarily mean the end of his life, or could it mean the end of Second Dawn, or the end of Jill's life as she knew it, or the end of something entirely different? I'm not sure how I feel about the possibility of Xu being eliminated from the picture. I've never viewed him as pure evil and in fact see him as having a moral core similar to that of Holly. The biggest difference between the two is that Xu is resolute and powerful in his beliefs while Holly is unsure and weak in hers. Also, Xu's goal is to ensure that Jill becomes the woman she is meant to be and, after everything that has transpired up until now, isn't that the best thing for her? In that sense, Xu, perhaps more than anyone else, has Jill's best interest at heart. Xu's potential rivals no doubt have more crass objectives while Jill's rescuers have good intentions but want to "save" her from the path she's on, preventing any further alterations to Jack Larson, but is that what's best for Jill? So, if Xu dies, what becomes of Jill's evolution? On a related note, the timeline (early September 2020) is exactly in sync with Half Sisters. Does Mr. Xu's injury/possible death mean he will not be able to visit Mrs. Ferris? Or perhaps he visited before the Coming Out dinner and we'll see that in a Half Sisters' flashback scene?

Tim

Thank you, Gemma! I'm so happy that the depth I've tried to put into the characters, their growth, and their responses to the (pretty extreme) adversity feel authentic. I want them to feel like real people in a crazy situation. I like the phrase "post traumatic growth!" 💖

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Wojtek! I'm glad you wanted to read it again. I guess the pacing I was going worked! I'm hoping people will be guessing / theorizing about what happened through the whole season - until it DOES happen. 😉

Emory Ahlberg

What an amazing chapter Emory. Visually I can’t believe the incredible feminine beauty of Jill. She looks so stunning particularly in the yellow bikini images you have created. As you pull together all the different treads of the story together I was so impressed by the depth displayed within all characters in this chapter. The especially insightful, the deep philosophical murmurings and thought’s of Jill and that of Holly in particular characters highlight the ‘Post Traumatic Growth’ they and others have undergone within the context of all they have gone through in this epic tale you have created. Whilst I love the themes and elements of ‘forced feminisation,’ you have also created a masterpiece example of the love and growth that can be undertaken in the human condition in the midst of extreme adversity. Can’t wait for the next chapter. Thank you.

Gemma

I read it twice, it reads fast, so absorbing the story💖😮. Just a brilliant idea with this lockout, a situation like in a detective story, I am waiting how it will end....

Wojtek

She's the best! Beautiful and a badass mama bear, too!

Emory Ahlberg

Hi Richard! Yes, there will be a part 10. You're right that everything is converging quickly, but a lot can still happen in 45 hours, especially with this many characters and agendas. I love speculation! Maybe just mark it will a spoiler tag. 💖

Emory Ahlberg

You're welcome, Gemma! 💖 As I mentioned, there's a lot of characters all in one place now, so I thought it was important. I hope to read your thoughts about the chapter!

Emory Ahlberg

Yes. As Jill would say, Holly had to adapt or drown... but I don't think she can tell the difference anymore.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Robert!!! 💖You're right that on Xu's island, things (and people) aren't always what they seem. I really loved Holly's dialogue here, too - oh, and the brief reunion between Adele and Jill. You can definitely be a little bit in love with Jill - I certainly am. 🤣

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you!!! That's high praise, indeed. 😊 As for the ending, remember what Holly's new friend said: "We don't get what we deserve, we get what we fight for."

Emory Ahlberg

💖💖💖

Emory Ahlberg

That would be cute!

Emory Ahlberg

And luckily, she has lots of cards. 😉 🃏

Emory Ahlberg

Isn't her dress amazing?

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Jade! 💖 I want her cover up, too! 😭 Jill has so many amazing clothes. Lucky girl! My favorite expressions in this episode belong to Adele. Her face is so much different now that she has hope. This is the first time I've had the ability to show the island as I've always imagined it to look. I'm pretty happy with it!

Emory Ahlberg

Oh, I can't wait! Thank you, Tiki!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Andre! I was hoping to make this feel like the season premiere of a favorite TV show. I couldn't resist the drama. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Wow! What a start! Can’t wait to see more of those 45 hours! Love it! Even more cause I got to see my favorite character again. I was missing Josie!

Ella Cherry

showed my wife the coverup, we want it

Alyson Greaves

dfhgjkfdgdsjafgsdjfgsdhjf also that coverup

Alyson Greaves

Is this the final chapter, or will there be a part 10? Seems like so much is coming together already. Also, while rereading through the story I think I picked up on something that hints at how the story is going to end for Jill. How do you feel about theories because I think this one is actually pretty good?

Richard Head

Was it sniper shot from distance? From a boat maybe? Room where they're has non bulletproof windows? Or somebody was there and left unseen before Jill came in?

Maggie Heels

OOOMMMFFFGGG ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Before I start reading this chapter I would like th thank you for ‘Dramatis Personae’- Jack and Jill update refresh for dummies like me. It provides the clarification and mind searching trying to remember the different personal narratives.

Gemma

As is Holly, in my view and in Summer's view, Robert. Summer Chastity Crowe©™ forgave Holly because she immediately understood Holly did it all with the metaphorical and literal knife to her throat...and Janelle's, not out of love or actual obedience towards Xu. Please remember in Holly's Tale, Davis openly tried to rape her and Jason/Janelle intervened to save her. There's a reason why Summer...as smart, wise, sarcastic, witty and knowledgeable as she is moral, kind, loving, patient and sweet...taunts him by calling him Captain Lutze or Colonel Eichhorst. As for the equally skin-crawling Kaschak, he's Clown/Violator from the Spawn movies...literally monsters.

Alex From the Tri-Cities

Jill needs more time to work on her killer tan.

Jade Diaz

Wait, Xu isn't dead. (At least he's not an ex-parrot yet.)

Jade Diaz

In this world, Xu getting shot doesn’t necessarily mean that Xu has been shot. It’s that crazy. Ant it gives him a very convenient exit if things look like they’re going tits up (sorry!) for his operation…. Meanwhile Holly’s speculations hide what she’s really thinking, Josie’s being selflessly brave and Mason is outweirding everything else in this chapter. What a tremendous return to the Queen of all Comics. Thank you, Emory. Some terrific facial art here, yet again. And come on, it doesn’t have to be a sexual thing. We’re all more than just a bit in love with Jill, aren’t we? She’s fully redeemed and a truly good person who you just have to root for.

Robertlouis

Mr. Xu arrives in the afterlife: "-Welcome, Mr. Xu. We have such wondrous sights to show you. Remember it only hurts...for an eternity." Once gain, my muse, you have hooked me with the first 12 panels. To see him in pain, bleeding and actually talking about the end...his end, now that's skill on another level. And for once it appears that guilty are made to pay for their sins. The Dan Brown/Danielle Steele of Daz3D art and TG captions/writing. Ladies and gentlemen, let us raise our hands and our glasses for Emory Ahlberg: the arch-muse of TG captions and comics. I do implore you, my muse, don't turn this into a bloodbath. The girls of Second Dawn have suffered enough already. They deserve to live, be full women if the should so choose a chance at a happy ending which includes family and children, like Josie. Or not. But it should be their choice, not Second Dawn's. Unlike Xu's dialogue with Jill, I believe all of them can should & MUST be saved.

Alex From the Tri-Cities

There's so much twist and turns throughout this chapter.

Tiki D

You should do Jill as Carmen Miranda "The tropical fruit hat lady" that hula dances pin-up.

Tiki D

Jill is really playing her cards to her advantage as adapt more of being Xu's Top Handlers. I got a feeling that she would do something unspecify.

Tiki D

I really like how Jill looks sexy in this chapter.

Tiki D

It's the beginning of the end, and Jill -- as usual -- looks amazing. I covet her swim cover so badly. So many incredible facial expressions. Emory you always put beautiful and incredible levels of detail into every image. Not just fabric textures, but everything: the lighting, the reflections, fabric folds. It's just so good.

Jade Diaz

Emory, I'm working on a surprise for Jack and Jill series to show my appreciation. Here's a hint, "I think you would like the possibilities.".

Tiki D

Xu being killed at the beginning is really interesting start to the chapter. Also, it's really cool that we're getting flashback that led up to his death.

Tiki D

So much can (and obviously will) happen in just 45 hours.

Tim

Xu been shot. You really know how to hook us into chapter 9. Some of Xu's own people are involved in the uprising.
