Yay! It's Episode 43 of Half Sisters and we're back with Nikki for a little while. Sandy and Nikki are in different places in their journeys (and they don't have the same destinations), so it's really fun to switch between them.

I think sheās so focused on soldiering through life that she doesnāt have time to really reflect on the changes sheās STILL going through, even being off the island. Her muscles and all that were a huge part of her self-image, which she has been forced to redefine, which has been a bit of a blessing because she wasnāt the best person in the world as Nick. Who will she become? Who will she be attracted to? Weāll have to find out! š

Yeah, Nikki has gotten so excellent at her femme voice (she's a perfectionist) that it's getting a little more difficult for her to easily "switch." Oops! And youāre absolutely right, a lot of guys love to make gross, sexualized comments in games. I decided to start Nikki off 'slow' because her reaction to THOSE kind of comments would've taken up a whole episode lmao. But she loves games, so she'll be back on...and things will escalate! Are the shifts, and Nikkiās more relaxed attitudes around her views of the physical attraction between ādick and musclesā and āpuss and boobsā indicative of subtle shifts taking place and losing up of her sexual orientation? Has āhaving tittiesā and being more able to view them beyond just objects of sexual attraction and desire further suggestive of this? Has her loss of masculine muscle, and will any further losses she may incur bring about further shifts in what (who) she is physically attracted to? So many questions Emory you have left with us, your readers that we patiently have to wait to be revealed in future chapters.

2023-12-11 12:26:56 +0000 UTChonestly stellar work emory, i think the inclusion of nikki playing fortnite and subconsciously talking higher is so real. i will say as someone who plays quite a lot of games, men are a LOT worse than little statements btw like they just immediately get sexual almost instantly and ignore any call outs. wouldāve been interesting to see nikki react to that. your art is genuinely so pretty tho and i canāt wait for jessica to see nikki again >:)

2023-12-11 06:03:09 +0000 UTCI wonāt comment on what others already have, but what hit me like a train in this episode was Nikkiās extreme vulnerability and the fact that more than anyone else in this story, just how terribly alone she is. Just when youāre fed up with her acting like an immature asshole youāre hit with huge reminders why she is like she is. There are other allies, like Sandy and now, it appears, Jessica, but the key to her sanity and salvation, at least in the short term, is Zach. Sheās slowly coming round to the realisation that at the very least they need each other, and, who knows, this otherwise odd couple might symbiotically turn out to be just right for each other after all. And in any case, Nikki is just too damn pretty to have any kind of realistic thoughts of becoming male again.

It's pretty telling as to where her character is going to go for the time being, and I'm all for it. She's definitely good at playing the part of a pouting girlfriend. lol

I love the subtle physical and psychological changes taking place. I also loved how she spoke about herself as Nick in the third person. Great to see how her voice (unconsciously) as she automatically canāt help but slip into female register. Loved the indignity she experienced around being perceived as female and dismissive feedback and weight being given to her insightful strategies (being a former quarter back) because sheās as just being a girl. It was interesting to witness some new shifts and insights into disregard often experienced by girls/ woman by āboys/menā. I could go on and on with my praise for this chapter, whether it be āher automatic singing the girl part in song,ā to her ādressing to please her manā (no matter what her said rationale was..). Then the final, āoh crap momentā with the inadvertent email to Jessica that ends up opening up new possibilities in forthcoming chapter/s. I wonder who would be submissive one if they were to get together? Also what forthcoming changes will take place in the sexual role and power dynamic between her and Josh? Lastly, wow, such āgirly like selfies.ā To conclude the chapter, such beautiful pictures of the ever increasing pretty Nikki. Amazing Thanks Emory, canāt wait to read next chapter.
