Homecoming - Episode 14

Kris takes charge...

We're closing out August with Episode 14 of Homecoming. 😄 I'm having a blast spending time with these characters again. Chris and Kayla are in such a hard circumstance, with neither of them really knowing what the future holds - especially for their relationship.

Do you think it will survive?

omg, a girl's night out with Kris and Kayla is a REALLY fun idea. 💅

Emory Ahlberg

Hi Tiki - What do you mean?

Emory Ahlberg

Maybe....eventually. 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Yay! The evolving relationship with Kayla is one of the most intriguing parts of the storyline for me to write as well. We've got a lot of ground to cover, and many layers of their relationships to peel back!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Nina! Yeah, I can see how you're torn! Me too! Chris/Kris is definitely going through a lot right now. Even Chris believes that his "Kris" persona is a trauma response...but she certainly seems a bit more real these days. I doubt he expected her to follow him out into the real world. But hey, at least there's some...uh, silver lining, right? 😉 I'm really glad you're enjoying the complex characters though! Personally, I think they're what makes a story really come alive. And thank you for the comment on the art! I'm always trying to get better! 💖

Emory Ahlberg

Wow! Thank you, Robert! Your comment really dives deep into the complexities of this episode. I think you captured the essence of the situation perfectly – it's a mix of rediscovered intimacy, lingering trauma, and the jarring reality of Chris/Kris's transformation (which Kayla is realizing was more than physical). Kayla is interacting with Kris, not Chris, in these intimate moments. Are they the same person? Two parts of a whole? Or has Kris become distinct enough to be considered her own being? As for Kris's expression of pleasure, yeah, it's a mix of her learned responses and genuine feelings for Kayla. Honestly, that's the balance I'm (always) aiming for - creating a story that's visually engaging, emotionally complex, and not afraid to delve into darker themes. Thank you!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Ella! 💖 That's the sort of combo I go for!

Emory Ahlberg

LOL, I see what you did there, Maggie! 😉 Yeah, Kay's reluctance is definitely a big part of her character right now. She's still trying to process everything that's happened, so it's understandable that she'd be a bit hesitant. But who knows? Maybe we'll see her start to open up more as the story goes on? It's hard seeing her Chris like this! As for what to do while waiting for the next part... well, maybe you could try guessing what's going to happen next? It could be fun! 🤔😁

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks so much for the kind words, Elrod! They mean a lot! 💖 I'm super glad you're enjoying the characters and their development. You know me - I try to put a lot of effort into making the feelings and interactions of the characters feel as real and natural as possible even in extreme circumstances! You're sharp to pick up on that slip from Kris! It's definitely a hint at the duality of the Chris/Kris identity. As for your point about Kris constantly giving pleasure but struggling to receive... consider that Kris might be able to receive but just not in a way Kayla can give (yet). 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, France! Yeah, the relationship between Chris/Kris and Kayla is definitely more about the soul connection they have, rather than anything physical. At least at the moment. Kayla is not lesbian and probably doesn't really have much bisexual leanings. As far as she is concerned, Chris is still her fiancé and the man she loved... She's looking PAST his changes, not embracing them.

Emory Ahlberg

Aw... Your support for Chris/Kris and Kayla's relationship warms my heart! Trust me, I too hold a soft spot for their bond, which has been tested in ways most relationships can't even fathom.

Emory Ahlberg

I have to admit I've never actually seen that movie, Tiki!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much Ken! Yeah, your interpretation of Chris/Kris and Kayla's relationship is spot on. They're navigating through a sea of trauma, miscommunication, and (of course) change. I think it's a real testament to the strength of their bond that they have been able to maintain their connection through such extreme circumstances...at least so far!

Emory Ahlberg

as worried as i am for chris in the coming times and this attitude shift is a classic trauma response, at least they’re getting some? i’m not sure to root for them or feel bad! gosh darn you emory and your emotionally gray/morally complex characters!!! Also wonderful structural art! it always seems like the images build off of each other in such a unique and intriguing way!

Nina

This episode is troubling, sexy and terrific, all at the same time. Kayla allows herself to surrender to the pure sensuality of the moment as well as the welcome rediscovery of intimacy with Chris, as she thinks of it, without stopping to realist that Bella’s conditioning means that he is now physically and psychologically only capable of delivering pleasure from a female perspective and has adopted a female persona for the duration of the act. The complexity is devastating and yet both are temporarily lost in the relief of their rediscovered intimacy. It’s heartbreaking, actually. And the expression on Kris’s face - because it is Kris and it is she that we are seeing - seems to show pleasure, but is it the feigned pleasure that she shows her clients or the real emotion that she has always reserved for Kayla? Agonising, and impossible to tell from the expressions that you’ve given her, which make the images all the more powerful. I found this chapter more disturbing than erotic, and I wonder how much regret they’re going to feel when they come down. Tremendous stuff both in terms of narrative and artwork, Emory. xx

Robertlouis

Interesting… and sexy! ❤️

Oki... sooo Emory... you didn't listen what Kay was saying... she said clearly "God[dess], don't stop. P-Please don't fucking stop!" so FFS why did you stop??? [see what i did here? 😁] I blame Kay not you though... Kay was a mood killer from the beginning... if she wasn't so reluctant from the start maybe we wouldn't end with a scene with loud scream "please don't stop"...What to do now while waiting for next part I wonder... 😅😜🥰🥰🥰❣️❣️❣️

LOVE IT! This is an example of why you're my favorite TG author., not just graphic story author. The depth of the characters, their development, the subtle way they show their feelings - it's all so absolutely spot-on and totally natural. I did note that Kayla didn't notice one item - when Kris said that "Chris never - I mean I never..." She hasn't yet picked up on the duality of Chris/Kris. Eventually, that will be something both of them have to come to terms with. As this continues, I also wonder how long it will be before Kayla notices that Kris gives and gives - but doesn't know how to receive?

Elrod W

I believe that the relationship between the two will survive but not on the level of intelligence but rather on that of the spirit...and the heart will remain but the bodies will unfortunately be absent.

France Day

I sincerely hope their relationship will survive, my dearest muse...and blossom into the future. I would love to see them find happiness...now more than ever.

Alex From the Tri-Cities

I can't wait to see more of their duality and relationship with Kayla.

Tiki D

What would Kris and Kayla GNO be like?

Tiki D

I wonder they're going to grow their hair.

Tiki D

Emory, you should do their duelity as an auto chapter.

Tiki D

I can't wait to see more of Chris/Kris duelity switch back and forth.

Tiki D

Chris/Kris duelity remind me of The Mask.

Tiki D

Homecoming continues to be so good! Chris/Kris and Kayla seem so patient and understanding with each other, even if they are frustrated with the inability to communicate everything they want to given the massive trauma Chris has been through. I know you have a lot more in store for both of them but I think their relationship will survive, it survived Chris being kidnapped and presumed dead for three years. I'm really looking forward to seeing where you take both of them.

Ken
