I think you're accurate in that he (and inadvertently Holly) has been slowly conditioning her to become his perfect handler for some time now. Holly will be leaving Second Dawn - retired by Xu - so he definitely needs somebody new to fill her place in the organization... Of course, it's both a blessing and a curse for Jill. Being closer to Xu's inner circle, she'll be able to protect people and maybe even exert influence over Second Dawn. On the other hand, it places her in a precarious moral position. How much of Xu's orders and commands will she be able to disobey, without facing consequences? How slippery is the slope of compromise?

2023-07-02 07:58:27 +0000 UTCHolly shocked about Jill being a natural handler reminds a couple of chapters about Janelle was telling Emily that the Jack, she knew, will not be same person that she remembered due being under the influence of Xu. Since the beginning of the story, Xu has been molding Jack/Jill slowly into his natural handler. Through Dr. Mason's formula, subliminal messaging, Holly's influence, blackmailing, and personal information, it starts molding the modalities of a person. Despite Jill being a strong, confident, caring, and smart woman, overtime she been "accepting" Xu' s gifts, like going to the mainland and being promoted to being his best Handler and his "new and improve" Holly. In the later part of the eighth chapter, she starts to refer to her formal identity (Jack) as somebody else and being appropriate around Xu.

As I posted above, you're already taking a while to give us context on Brooke hehe.😊 I think you have endless material to work with in the Second Dawn Universe, because every time you introduce us to a new character, you make our teeth grow long! - By the way Brooke is beautiful.😍 How interesting it would be to know more about the "toys" and "companions", their training, their choice, the power struggles between the 2 groups.... HIT & Coven. As for your question of who will be the final winner, I would have 2 answers: 1. What do I think will happen? Right now I'm inclined to think that Mr. Xu will win, he has repeatedly shown us that he is always 2 steps ahead of everyone else, but... 2. Who do I want to win? Well, this question seems to have an easy answer... but it does not. I mean, if this were real life, obviously I would want Mr. Xu and his acolytes to be fucked to death and if possible, by the hand of his victims and suffering the same treatment but elevated to the nth degree and ending with the whole organization of Second Dawn. ...But this being a wonderful FICTION story, I would not like Second Dawn to disappear... although obviously there would have to be improvements -a Second Dawn 2.0- I would like the end of the battle to conclude in a victory for Jill, Holly and company... but that Mr. Xu, would become their ally, and they would direct Second Dawn towards other interests: now the targets would be all those perverts, thugs, rapists, murderers etc... The rest I would leave in your skillful hands and brilliant head Emory, so that you can keep us hooked to your wonderful art and addictive stories.😘

I can feel the tension building up and all hell breaking loose at the end. There are a lot players in one place at the same time and that may not work the way Xu envisions it.

Holly SHOULD know enough about Xu now to know about his murderous "emergency protocol" to stop & or countermand it by somehow rounding up all the girls to kept safe in case of "emergency"...until "the heat" blows over while lying to Xu that they are all dead. Holly is NOT incapable of love, she is playing the long game or "Taqiyya" as Connor's prince "buyer" might call it. I refuse to believe that Xu succeeded and turned Holly not just into a sterile, childless eunuch but even worse a copy of himself ort the monstrous Mr. Davis. There is goodness in Holly, I know it, my muse. She is just hiding it very well. As for my other thoughts, my muse, I believe in a happy ending while still being aware this is an Emory Ahlberg comic after all. So if the Valkyries (Jill's Angel pin-up) or devils (Holly's Devil Girl pin-up) will choose, I implore you to let them choose the wicked. The innocent have suffered more than enough. If there is to be bloodshed, let the blood of the wicked flow like a river like in the "Boondock Saints". Xu Davis, Holly's "uncle" and his entire treasonous brood. My final thought is overall the happiness of these victims. For example, Josie has a son to carry her name while Holly, Jill, Angela, Jessica...and no doubt many other do not. I know that Second Dawn stem cell, telomerase and organ transplant technology is highly advanced and I want them to be fully anatomically capable women. I'll tell you more in my G-mail or do you prefer a message here on Patreon? With every work you do, you outshine yourself, but I guess at this point it just goes without saying, doesn't it, my darling muse?
