Six months after the end of Season 1, Half Sisters is back! 🎉
I truly can't wait for you to see everything I have planned Nikki and Sandy this season. I've also been working on my technique and their shaders, materials, etc. so you should hopefully notice a jump in quality and realism compared to last season. 😊
The first part of the season will focus on Nikki's story, and she was also the subject of a recent story poll where you were asked to choose a PLOT and a CHANGE.
For PLOT the #1 was - "Nikki needs a dress for her date. Unwilling to go alone, she enlists the help of ex-gf Lauren and goes shopping at a thrift store."
For CHANGE the #1 - "Nick had an annoyingly flat butt; nothing he could do would shape it--now Nikki's butt is filling out!"
At least a couple of the other plots and changes will also happen, but it will be a bit down the line.

Then they spend a ton of money researching the best material only to realize they had nothing that would work. So they asked other companies for help. And it was a bra company that had the technology to make the perfect suit.

And, yeah, Nikki has been acting macho for so long she now believes it's who she "truly" is. I think part of the reason she ran away from mom was because she was beginning to remember her true self, which scared the hell out of her. I'm LOL'ing at the face Nikki's dad would have if some cowboy came to take his "daughter" out. I'm sure he'll have a few choice words for that guy! Nikki might even join in! 😂

Yeah, her email to "Scott" is just half-truths and denial, but I think that's just her way of coping with the situation. If she can get Scott to believe she's still the same old Nick, maybe she can get herself to believe it too. I'm so, so glad you liked the art! I'm working especially hard on making sure the body language is spot on, as it's so important in conveying a character's feelings. As for the Hutchinsons... I can't wait for the dinner, the date, all of it! We'll be seeing a lot more of Zach this season... and so will Nikki! 😊

He wants Nick / Niki to be a reflection of him -- a "good" reflection. That means anything Nikki accomplishes is (in his mind) "their" accomplishment... and any failures are entirely Nikki's fault. Ugh. And, yeah, Zach is a lot deeper than he seems and is similarly dealing with a toxic father. Right now, Nikki hates his guts but perhaps they'll start to really connect and build a bond. We'll see. 💖

If Nikki is every going to learn to stand up for herself and become the strong, confident person she's meant to be, she'll need to make peace with who her father ACTUALLY is and not who she wants him to be. I love Nikki, despite (and because of) her attitude. You're totally right about not wasting a life. Nick's dad might think he's a hardcore hunter, but he obviously doesn't have a lot of respect for nature. "Denial" seems to be Nikki's middle name at this point. She can't face the truth of what she's been through and the changes that are just continuing to happen. The hormones are straight from Xu (Second Dawn believes in continued customer support!) so they're Mason's enhanced hormones, yes. And they definitely seem to be working the same wonders as they did on all the others! 😊

And love how clearly Nick's macho alpha act is not only not new but ramped up around her dad. I love the idea that Nikki's dad is only going to make her more desired by men feeding her the way he is lol. Cant wait until he has to deal with some boy come a'callin' on his little quarterback

On the one hand, good for her for not surrendering, but on the other, the total refusal to confront the reality of her changes is harming her mental state, and living with her father, who’s just as damaged in his own way, is only going to accelerate that downward spiral. The upbeat macho writing to “bro” Scott is so false that it’s almost pathetic. Poor kid. Your art, Emory, is superb, with the western light and shading very much to the fore, and Nikki’s body language, the slump in the shoulders, the set of the lips, these details are every bit as eloquent as the dialogue. I’ll be fascinated to see where you take things from here, especially with the forthcoming date with the Hutchinsons. Will Nick/Nikki and her father remember how to play it or will their frontier ebullience create major trouble both tonight and going forward?

2023-01-24 06:46:01 +0000 UTCNikki’s dad is so sad to see :( Weirdly, he reminds me of my own dad. Thinking being masculine and “alpha” is the best thing in the world. The refusal to treat Nikki’s transformation (that he fucking caused by the way!!!!) as anything but trauma is so annoying! I think we’ll see a lot of growth from Nikkei this season. Id almost love more focus on her for this one. She has such an interesting story and I think Zach, although he has a shitty dad, is a fantastic person for her to be around. The two can be normal together while outside they have to hide their true selves. Nikki’s care for animals makes me think she missed that shot on purpose. Her dad killing the animal then just leaving it is vile to me. Hunting can be a vile act when it’s for sport. Hunting for survival or food at least cares for the kill. This seems like a metaphor for what Nikki’s dad did to her by giving her to Xu. I think that Nikki’s real personality could start to shine this season considering it’s obvious her dad is a raging narcissist who tries to live vicariously through his son. Nikki was brainwashed into believing she had to live a certain way. I hope she leaves her dads soon and goes back to her moms where she can actually be cared for. Lovely chapter Emory! The panel of Nikki closing her eyes while her dad shoots is breathtaking! Idk if I was paying attention to detail more this time because the dad felt a little too reminiscent of my own, but so much symbolism!! I love it!! Can’t wait for the next one :)

He's just using her to gain his pride back after been humiliated because of his own wrong doings, and Nikki paid the price. What a ...! I think Nikki will come to a hard realization soon enough her body is hers now and it's not going to change. If anything she's developing quite a nice ass. I'm looking forward to this season. Make some hamburgers or chili, but don't waste a life. The dude doesn't know what he's talking about at all. Nick/Nikki is definitely in denial about some things. His time with Second Dawn seemed to change his natural temperament more than he's willing to admit, and then there are the obvious changes to his body. In that sense "she" looks great. I'm curious what else has changed on that front. Out of curiosity, are the hormones that Nick is taking now of the normal variety or are they Mason's enhanced hormones from Second Dawn?

It’s such an ugly window into the process that turned the sweet kid into Nick The Jock. And the fact that her dad is trying to make her into that again, despite everything, despite that she has to play Nikki The Girlfriend *this very night…!* The man is despicable.

On page 10 I could have sworn that if this was a "Netflix Original Series" with actors then Nikki would have flinched at the shot. I can understand that Nikki wants to connect with old activities, but dad is not helping here... He was a prick, he is a prick and he will stay being prick... I don't believe that Nikki feels comfortable around him... so why lying to Sandy? How long Nikki will be lying to herself that her dad is not bad to the bone and don't care about her at all... We have here an ideal example of toxic masculinity emanating from Nikki's dad... (hey Aly, Dorley Hall have an upper age limit? :D ) That would be it for now... if something else will pop in my mind I'll post another post... P.S. renders are beautiful ❣️❣️❣️ On page 9 I could swear that Nikki has full makeup... hmmm.
