I think this competition is going to be really, really, really tough because the groups are so unique in each ways. They each carry what makes them so special. I think the biggest factor is the storytelling of the performances that will set each group apart, regardless of the whole ranking.

yey I almost have the same ranking as you lol except that I put Ateez as second then Straykids as third which is not a big deal lol tbh I think all performances are amazing. I stan all of the groups so I went unbiased as possible. Btob only did vocals which is completely understandable since they're very well known for their vocals, the same level as how exo is well known for their vocals as well actually but I think they could have done a lot better since I've stanned them since 2014 I know they can do a lot more better. I don't know if it's because of the members since they went from 7 to 4 or because of the issues that happened with ilhoon but I know they're a lot more than that. They're even known for being a group with 7 vocals and 7 rappers lol anw i hope they get to show more in the future eps. All groups did amazing and I can't wait to see how much the rankings will change.

I am a huge multi so I stan all of these groups except for BTOB but even then I still have a huge respect for BTOB so I'll definitely be watching this show objectively and vote based on which performances I like best for each round. For iKON, they did a lot of intense and competition level choreo pre-debut but their choreography after debut hasn't been TOO intense but it's still very good and clean! One of the members said that they can do fancy moves and intense routines but they would prefer to have a cool performance without moves that could possibly injure one of them I believe so that could be why their style changed up a bit dancing wise. My ranking for the opening performances would be The Boyz, Stray Kids, Ateez, iKON, SF9 and BTOB. BTOB's vocals are amazing but I think they could definitely show more so i'm looking forward to what they'll bring when the show starts!

For me...ATEEZ is my ult group but i will vote based on every episode i think. I have no background in singing, dancing or whatever so idk how to rank them by skills but as an audience. I guess im gonna vote based on impact? And how their perf made me feel. If im excited and shocked and dying hahaha idk.. based on this intro my rank would be SK, TBz, ATEEZ, ikon,btob and sf9. I'm excited to see if hoe this kingdom works.. this is my first time watching it.... Does every episode have a theme or every ep hey will perf diff style? Coz i think that would be diff especially we have diff preferences omg... Im so excited for APRIL!!!

I kept repeating The Boyz performance esp the ballet position. their performance is FANTASTIC! At the beginning of the song, I was like "It's gonna be fierce performance concept" but when it reaches the whole ballet section, "Oh Gosh! No one expected it to be like this!"(in a good way tho). They shows versatility in their performance which the other groups doesn't have.

After all of the amazing RTK performances I was worried The Boyz' performances would lose their shine for me but WOW they just keep proving me wrong. This performance was absolutely breathtaking.. the details and control and musical arrangement. Just stunning. Can't wait to see what else they're going to bring.

For me SK, The BoyZ and Ateez were all the same. They did dark versions of their songs and that just made them boring for me. Yes even with the level of theatrical staging. IKon stood out not only for their song but their PRESENCE. They mixed their song with and older YG song and that immediately got my attention. Bobby not lip syncing made it even more funnier for me. So IKon and BTOB were my favorites.

I definitely agree with your rankings. The Boyz just shocks me from the beginning until the end of their performance. Like the song started off so sinisterly and so different from the original but I already love it and then when they started bringing those ballet moves out of nowhere, I SCREAMED MY LUNGS OFF! Like I wasn't expecting any of that from them and they did THAT and when I first saw that, I COULDN"T BREATHE. And I'm so proud of them for being able to bring shock value after each performance! Stray kids were amazing too! I love how they changed up the song but it's still the MIROH I love somehow (idk how they did that but they did it) and CHANGBIN'S RAP!!! OMG, GO BE THE RAP GOD YOU ARE ALREADY!!! Also, they pulled off so much stunts???? LIKE HELLO, THIS ISN'T THE OLYMPICS (I'm just kidding, don't flame me lol) and by the end of their performance, I was already anticipating their next. Ateez did amazing but I think they could do better really! I say that because I actually think that their strengths are in the rap and vocal area, like how they sound so good together and all but it wasn't show that much here! But there are still shocking areas in their performance that made me enjoy it, like how they changed the sound of Wave so that it's not the summer song we know anymore and San's fire torch, ICONIC! I really enjoyed Ikon's performance in the beginning but I agree with you that it started to get boring after such a strong start and sorry to say this but since Ikon's performance was after the boyz, I kept thinking about the boyz's performance until the ending of the performance where it got better again. The song choice didn't help for me at all since I wasn't a huge fan of the original even when it first came out BTOB has such amazing vocals but this is a survival show. Competition! Although vocals are important and their singing are always chef kisses, the visual of the performance didn't do it for me. It will be an important factor because do you know when there are movement in a video it helps us to stay more focused? I'm speaking from what I saw online and I find it kind of true because I always lose my attention on singing performances unless the song is something I like or the singer is very charismatic. So, I'm actually very worried for BTOB when they compete with these other groups who always bring such high quality dance performances. I don't really know SF9 and I feel bad saying this but their performance felt like any other dance performances on music shows. LIKE I KNOW THEY CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER CAUSE I SAW THAT ICONIC K.O DANCE BEFORE!! So when I watched this performance, I was like would it have been better that they danced that rather than this??? I really hope they up their game because other groups are already bring their 'A' game to the table and it's only the start of Kingdom. Can't believe we still have to wait until April for the start of Kingdom :( With all these performances, I already can't wait for the next few mission!

personally i would rank it: the boyz, stray kids, ateez, ikon, btob, sf9. i personally do think the mix of dance style from the boyz that they demonstrated between "strong" and contemporary was amazing, my reaction was exactly the same. for stray kids their use of props and the way they executed their tricks was something else. i was surprised ateez did a dark version of wave but i somehow don'tthink they showed their strength/ skill fully, i also find wave just a weird weird choice even if it was dark. its good to see ikon on here and i think they'll do well, im looking forward to their stage presence and what they'll do. btob got them vocals!! such a vocally strong group and i am really curious how they will do in this competition, as an another lsightly older group im really keen to see how they will compete. sf9 are a group i've had my eye on for years casually following comebacks, i do think they have more to show then what they did here similar to ateez.

Going into this knowing all the groups. I would rank Ikon as first. I think that the Introduction stage is suppose to show the viewer (fans/nonfans alike) what their style/musicality as a Kpop group is and what sets them apart from others. Ikon stayed the most true to their musical style yet also gave enough performance tricks and overall flow for a pleasant surprise. Stray Kids would be 2nd, The Boyz 3rd, BTOB 4th, ATEEZ 5th, and S59 6th.

I like every group participating but if we are talking about first impression performance you have got to go all guns blazing im afraid this is why vocal performances can be overlooked but BTOB are one of the best kpop vocal groups out there sadly they got swamped here with in your face performances. I am so glad Ikon are back and i love that performance version of Rythm Ta and hey hey Junhoe centre by the end still expecting more from them tho i know they are capable for more. SF9 for me did not showcase a more performancecentric song of theirs i mean they won music shows with Good guy probably y they went for it but its more of laidback upbeat song they could have done now or never instead still a good performance. Now this three younger groups with similar attacks Ateez for me had great facial expressions as always they really do hit hard but their performance i found very abrupt they could have done hala hala imho rather than wave but still good. Now stray kidz where do i begin I really think they have that challenger mentality with their performance it had the recipe for it and the attack was great however comparing it to the boyz its just pipped out by the great harmony between attack and grace as Jeff said the versatile aspect of it just topped it. Don’t get me wrong since RTK my expectations for the boyz are soaring high and i fear that every performance they do will fail to reach that and will left me dissapointed but they proved me wrong on this one they still got it and will keep rolling on hopefully they still have great performances ahead. All of the groups participating are all well established they have their fandoms and different styles to showcase. What I am looking for now is creativity, great ideas and concepts that push boundaries because those things keep you excited and ask what are they going to do next?

Ikon was known to have great dance performances. Their ex-member Hanbin ( BI) would help create and structure them. A performance that I would recommend you watch is "Kiss and Goodbye" they did it for Heros of Remix.

My ranking would be 1.Stray kids 2. The boys 3.Ikon 4.Ateez 5. Btob 6.Sf9 I might be a little hard on Ateez but I think they are capable of much better! It was also hard to judge Btob because they delivered something totally different from the others. As for ikon I loved the intro and the final of their performance but something was missing in the middle. I am looking forward to their next performances because I love YG artists! But I'm worried for them because YG is not known for their performances with a lot of dance but rather for the swag. (their advantage is their great vocals I hope that Junhoe will be able to showcase his amazing voice + they know how to hype the crowd but without an audience in real life i'm not sure if they can showcase this strenght well ). For SF9 I was not fond of the remix. the transition from the dance only to good guy was too abrupt. It was hard to decide who's won my heart between Skz and the boys but I think skz had more story telling in their performance that's why they are 1st place for me. But shout out to the boys' dance skills. It was insane it was the cleaniest dance of all performances 😱

Just adding that they've also done a chinese survival show in 2016, and in general Bobby has also been on SMTM! They're damn experienced and while it's a little sad to see them on a survival show again, I'm so excited to see them kill the stage on Kingdom this time around

I very much agree with your thoughts about the performances. I was a bit unsure of the level, and felt they were more focused on showing their strengths, then Stray Kids performance came, and I was like: They saw The boyz in RTK, they know what their up against and are ready to compete 😉 Not that the others weren't good, it just didn't feel like RTK level. My ranking is almost the same as yours. The Boyz, Stray Kids, Ateez, iKON, SF9, BTOB. I don't know much about vocal stuff other than it's nice to listen to 😅 So for me watching SF9's great dancing comes over BTOB's vocals. I can appreciate nice vocals, but it's dancing that I'm the most interested in. I'm so excited about the rest of the show now! It will be hard to wait...

iKON had always done these competition performances their pre-debut stuff is AMAZING since they literally went through 2 survival shows. They're know for their stage presence and lives (concerts are next level amazing). But I totally agree on your ranking like my ult is iKON and then ATEEZ but SKZ omg the performance as a whole was very complete 10/10. And now we all have to wait until April which honestly feels like a million years after watching all these incredible performances

basically the intro was talking about that they all have to film a 100 second intro stage and then they literally have one take to do it. i think the reason they are showing just only the intro stages is because fans have to vote for their top three and then that gonna be counted to the final show i believe (someone can correct me if i'm wrong) tbh they could've just showed it all in april cause they live streamed and then like no one can see it if they missed which is very very unfair :(. for ateez i liked how they started continuing off their last mainstream performance for kingdom which was at mama i like the connection !! for btob, they definitely showed what they are known for which is their vocals more than anything else (sadly the whole group isn't here since the rest of the members are in the military atm) i did like them but it didn't captivate me beyond their vocals. for sf9 (im a little biased cause of everyone here there are one of my ult groups), i think they were telling a story which like the gem that inseong (the first member we saw) was holding and them going after it (i think idk the stage was kinda dark imo so i couldn't tell). (you actually didn't see good guy it's a good song i recommend it got them their first win which was last year !!) they definitely showcased like the dancing and singing. i think they did a more gentleman concept since if you know the song and mv it's very expensive and classy like suits and stuff lmao. sadly yes rowoon has been injured since july but he just got cleared by his doctor but it was too late for him to join the stage :(. for stray kids, i loved how they went for a very dark concept for miroh and it suited them cause felix has such a commanding voice and then i liked their power !! all the flips and especially the one chan did really shook me sksks. i really loved strayed kids !! for the boyz, i had a little more expectations for them since they did win rtk and their performances there were literally isnane. i loved how they showed two sides of them like you said. the intro to the more ballet dances was beautiful and they all did an amazing job with it and it connected to their first part of the performance with the darker concept. i personally loved theirs a lot. for ikon (sadly i don't know much about them besides a couple of songs and ofc they are under yg), their intro was very captivating but as you said they didn't really hold up that besides with their dancing. i did love how they ended (i saw on twitter everyone ended standing up and ikon was the only ones on the floor lol). so over all my current ranking for the intro stages is (last to first): btob, ikon, atz, sf9, skz, and tbz. i think overall i'm excited for kingdom i just think mnet should've like waited to show all the performances with all the commentary and stuff like how the first episode of rtk was idk what they were thinking but i also guess for more hype idk. it's funny how most of the ppl here came from mnet programs for debuting (sf9, skz, and ikon (and twice too😭) too. (is this comment really long im sorry😭😭 as i keep going lmao💀) maybe what you can do look more into the third gen groups that are here (btob sf9 and ikon) so that when kingdom comes you know more about them and stuff (also one of the actors in sf9 (yes i said one cause deadass everyone has acted before and are still acting rn as kingdom is being filmed i pray for them truly) chani, he played the friend from true beauty that was friends with suho and seojun who sadly died and he's gonna be in the drama with some of the atz members along with taeyang (the guy who walked center with sf9 like gathering the members) and hwiyoung (the guy you thought was rowoon lol))

When it comes to these kind of competition, I could say that iKON is a PRO here! 😂 I mean, they literally went through 2 YG survival shows (WIN: Who Is Next, and MIX&MATCH) before they were able to debut! It's insane! and it was so tough also. That's why they really know how to do these kind of "competition" style of performances. It's just shame that they can't utilize these kind of side of them on their comebacks so it's really good to see them doing these kind of performances again! 🥰 I'm so really looking forward to them! But at the same time, I have to agree with your ranking as well. They all did so well but of course there's got to be someone on the top. The Boyz really set the standard so high since RTK! ☺️❤
