MUST-READ POST : New Composer, Tiers Update, More Music

Hello Patrons,

This is probably the most exciting post I make on Patreon so far. I barely have words to explain what's going on. I'll try to stay completely factual. This news is part of why I was a bit late for the release of October's content.

Story

Over time, my whole project became really big, to the point I spend most of my time doing management, promotion and ambiences composition. I love music and I would love to have the time to compose more, but Guardians+ probably saw that I can't keep a steady flow of orchestral tracks. Some months it's 2, some it's 0, and it annoys me.

In order to keep this project growing, to stay the reference for ambiences and to become the reference for all audio for TTRPGs, I needed to provide music on top of the ambiences. In that regard, I've been looking actively to hire a composer who could take care of that. I needed someone extremely skilled and dedicated, someone who puts a lot of effort and love in his creations.

I found this person. His name is Filip Melvan, and he's the composer behind Tabletop Music Bazaar.

Starting on the first of December, Filip will pause his Patreon and join me. "Michael Ghelfi" becomes "Michael Ghelfi Studios", and, so, a kind of music label or brand for TTRPG and fantasy audio.

Who's Filip?

Here's a message from the man himself :

Greeting adventurers! Dice to meet you! My name is Filip Melvan of Tabletop Music Bazaar.

I studied and played the piano for 20 years of my life and that's where my passion for writing music came along shortly. Since then I was a self-taught composer and I have been writing music for 10 years now. A couple of years ago I discovered this brand new world of tabletop games and I immediately fell in love with it because It gave me an endless source of inspiration and the opportunity to fully express myself, with no limitations to my imagination when it comes to songwriting.

Words can't describe how happy and excited I am to start working with you all and join Michael, as a resident fellow Bard, an entertainer of the greatest city of sound in all the realms! See you out there!

What changes?

The Patreon will change quite a lot. However, we only add new content (except for free albums). Yes, you read that well. Basically more content for all existing tiers. Here are the next elements which add up to the existing releases.

Note that it only applies to active tiers. If your tier has the tag "(Historical tier)" in its name, you are kindly invited to switch.

3$ - Guild Members

• 4 new orchestral songs per month. What used to be a purely support-oriented tier now gets some content in return.

5$ - Adventurer

• The new 3$ content. Beside that, nothing changes.

10$ - Guardians

• The new 3$ content. On top of that, 4 additional songs for a total of eight tracks per month.
• (Deleted) "Bonus : Free albums". I used to distribute my new ambiences albums to all guardians. Now it's a Paladin thing. However, the new songs far exceeds the value of a few free albums per year.

15$ - Mage

• One "Adventure Theme" per month. What is it ? It's a 30 minutes thematical piece of music. Filip and I will work together to also distribute ambiences and SFX, to make a big thematic pack. Also expect collaborations with other artists on that (Maps, Tokens, etc.)
• Variations of some tracks : Piano version, subdued, other instruments, looped, etc.

35$ - Paladin

• All new music and ambiences albums for free. Filip will compose at least one full orchestral album on top of his usual compositions. This album won't be released on Patreon, but only on Bandcamp/Spotify, etc... Except if you are a Paladin. You also get my new ambiences albums.

100$ - Deity

• Free orchestral composition : Filip will compose a track based on your needs. The piece will be shared with the other patrons afterwards. Other conditions may apply.

ON TOP OF THAT, Filip will directly represent Michael Ghelfi Music in his compositions. In that regard, he'll be fully free to collaborate with whoever he wants. That means you'll also get more content from his collaborations with the creators he usually collaborates with, and new ones. 

Licenses

Streamers, content creators and YouTubers will be happy. Nothing changes.

• My conditions of use now apply to all of Filip's pieces (the whole catalogue).
• All of his pieces can be licensed for movies, video games, etc. here.
• My new TTRPG Content Creator License Agreement applies to his whole catalogue.

What's next?

Probably world domination. Or more fantasy audio. We are still hesitating.

Also, I'm currently waiting on the new logo and brand identity to rename/update everything. Expect name changes for tiers (but not the actual content of tiers).

About conditions of use and other licenses stuff : All of Filip's backlog is now part of Michael Ghelfi Music. In that regard, licenses and conditions of use also apply to his work.

Filip will personally post his music here. You are much welcome to join the Discord to personally interact with him. He will also follow the directory structure. His work will also be added to the list of Michael Ghelfi Music's audio works.

Naturally, this is a *huge* change for both of us, and for our communities. Please bear in mind that some elements (especially regarding how to access his backlog and such questions) may take time to be fully organized.

His backlog will also be posted on YouTube/Spotify/Etc., but it will take a lot of time to be entirely posted as this madlad composed over 200 pieces in just 1.5 year.

Once the Patreon reaches 3'700$ per month, I will hire a SFX composer and do the same for tiers. More content everywhere! It's just the start!
