Hello again!
In this post, we'll give details about the new chapter, as well as what we've done so far and what's left to do to make this chapter 100% complete and ready for you to see.
We said we'll keep you updated on Chapter 3 status, and now that the Beta Branch is available to play on Steam, here is what we have so far.
As you can see, we have several things still unfinished but I think we are in a good pasing.
To begin, we have to mention that this chapter has a total of 31,697 words (in Spanish) and over 24,000 in English, making it officially the longest, even longer than Chapters 1 and 2 combined. To give you a rough idea, Chapter 1 has 10,000 words and Chapter 2 has approximately 12,000. Besides having much more text, this chapter also has more artwork, more scenes, more dialogue, and, of course, much more story. As a small spoiler, we can mention that this is currently the longest chapter in all of WET NIGHTMARES, and we hope it remains so until the end of the project.
On another note, we have a lot of new music composed by me exclusively for the game. Over 130 audio elements, including music, expressions, moans, ambient sounds, character themes, and more. We hope to add this music to chapters 1 and 2 soon.
In terms of new images, this chapter has 283 in total, and to add even more excitement, we finally have new animations: 24 loops that make up several of the animations. Although some of these are only two frames long, we're doing our best to make the visual novel feel more alive than ever. (But the more budget we have, the more frames we can add to those animations.) Both the images and animations are still being created. We're currently preparing the first three scenes, and scene three is already finished. As soon as we finish the first two, we'll release a direct update in the game so you can see what we're adding.
We've been taking a little longer to bring you this continuation of the story... it's a long process, but with the new team at DEMON HEART STUDIOS, we've been able to streamline all the processes for this chapter.
And today I'm bringing you a little sneak peek at the process behind the second scene of chapter 3.
It took me about two weeks to get this angle working, since it's an angle I'd never shot before, but I followed my university professor's advice: first come up with your idea, and then figure out how to implement it. Honestly, it was hell, but I think it finally turned out the way I wanted.
Here I want to show you how I handle highlights and shadows, which I think turned out quite well in the end.
