2022-12-29 00:56:13 +0000 UTCYour observation about Reese and Finch being the combined equivalent of batman is pretty spot on, since Jonathan Nolan was inspired to come up with this show after working with his brother on the Dark Knight. Specifically, the part where Fox informs Bruce about the sonar phone technology and how immoral it is to use it. He basically took that concept of a vigilante using it to save people then split it into two people with different skill sets.
