About sound and voicework

Back then I experimented with voicework and sound in my work :

This obviously gives a lot more kick to it, and I thought I could make it work by using voice samples from the game, which also allowed me to keep it faithful to the original voices.
However, since there isn't possibly enough samples in the game to cover my needs (and it's also quite limiting regarding the dialog I can do), I don't think this is something I'll be able to do on the long run.
I'll have to do it like the other artists out there, and hire voice actors. Hopefully I'm able to find some willing to do a good impression of the voices we expect from these characters too. But since VAs usually don't work for cheap and I'm not exactly in a good place financially for now, this is not something I'll be able to do for the time being.

Once I'm at a good place financially and I have enough spare money for it, I will add voicework and sound to my work again, so please bear with me for now. The good news is, since I usually make proper lip sync in my animated work anyway, it won't be much of an issue to go back and add voicework to my past works once I'm able to afford VAs.

Making progress, but still not quite there yet. It will happen eventually.

How is the situation now? Are you able to hire VAs? I'd really really would like having sound for your Kasumi x Ryu series

Ah, this answers one of my questions I Dm'd you about. Completely understand and your work is still that awesome without it.

Ideally I'd like to use the original voices only, but I realized it's just not possible realistically, unless I could hire the actual VAs but yeah, I doubt they would agree. And I couldn't possibly afford them anyway.

You using the samples was always a fun part of your animations for me, but I totally understand the limits that imposes for you. All in all, I think it's most important that you do it in a way you consider fun, when you invest so much of your time into creating these works of beauty. πŸ™‚
