Hey, sorry for the delay, this comment slipped us! To answer you, they were added later on, Octavio was adopted on July, and Isaac created on September. It was decided Roy would not be Ted's boyfriend mostly to make the "soft bottom" joke. When we adopted Octavio, we saw he'd be perfect for Roy.
