One of my favorite comedies. You definitely need to watch 2 1/2 and 33 1/3 before the new movie. Airplane! is a classic spoof movie, and it was Leslie Neilson's first comedy, which I also recommend. Before that, he'd always been a serious actor. I also recommend the 6-episode series Police Squad, which didn't get good ratings because when people watch TV, they're often multitasking and missed a lot of the jokes on screen.
