2024-10-09 22:55:42 +0000 UTCThis was actually a really good movie when it first came out. It had a really low budget because the Director and Writer of the movie paid for it all out of pocket. I think like $10k-$15k i remember reading. The actors in it basically improvised the whole script for the movie based around what the director described he wanted for each scene. I seen an interview they were initially only paid like $500 each for their role but the movie became such a huge success that got increased since the movie made millions in theaters worldwide. Not all of them are worth watching though. Paramount who bought the rights to the movies after the first one, became greedy hence the back to back movies which all weren’t very successful imo. The first 3 i think are the best one’s.

Having grown up in a haunted house and having had other paranormal experiences since, I thought they did a great job at keeping the incidents in the movie fairly realistic whereas most paranormal themed movies show incidents as being way over the top with special effects.

2024-10-09 00:47:52 +0000 UTCYeah dude, this isn’t horror, just a waste of time. The only one I would recommend to watch is “Paranormal Activity The Marked Ones.” That one has a way different tone, is more entertaining and has actual likeable characters.

Before that ouIja boards were considered harmless fun used for free association writing or asking god/saints/dead family members The company that made ouIja boards were really angry at this strange superstition which hurt their sales
