In addition to Gaga, I was really looking forward to seeing Matt Bomer, the guy who plays Gaga's vampire partner, Donovan. He was in a series called White Collar, and was in the male stripper movie Magic Mike. I LOVE his walk. The hotel carpet design is very 'The Shining'. I think Paulson also plays a sadistic character in the mini series Ratched, based on a character from the Jack Nicholson movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

2024-05-15 16:47:21 +0000 UTCThis season was inspired by the real life Cecil Hotel (eventually renamed Stay on Main) in downtown L.A. The hotel has an extremely creepy history; 2 different serial killers lived there (Richard Ramirez & Jack Unterweger) & 16 confirmed deaths (mostly suicides). The most notable death being that of Elisa Lam, whose body was tragically found in the hotel’s roof water tank 3 weeks after she went missing. This case really blew up due to some creepy elevator video surveillance of her right before she went missing. If you haven’t seen it, I suggest you check it out. There’s also been several reported paranormal events, leading to several paranormal investigations. This is just some of the hotel’s disturbing past in a nutshell. It’s easy to fall down a rabbit hole looking into this place’s history. I find knowing some of the inspiration for this season of AHS makes it even more of an intriguing watch.

They did a movie based on the theme, called Dark Water I believe? There is a lot of bad juju at the actual real life hotel this season was based off of

2024-05-15 07:27:33 +0000 UTCLady Gaga joining AHS was kind of a big deal. Mostly because she was "replacing" Jessica Lange as the lead but more on the fact that this is her big acting gig. She knocked out of the park with her season debut and for that, she won a Golden Globe for this role. Her first Golden Globe and nomination. Which I want to add, rightfully deserve. So, yeah, it was EVERYWHERE about Lady Gaga joining AHS. With posters, commericals/ads, etc. Big ad campaign. This episode was viewed 5.81 million. Half because of Gaga while other half was AHS fans
