Misery (1990) Full Uncut Reaction!!!

Dolores is the best Kathy Bates performance in my opinion. So underrated!

James Jackson

Same here!! I can’t wait to start watching AHS

Annie is one of those people who attack the poor actor for portraying a bad guy like the actor who played poor Gene in walking dead… it’s so sad 😞

Ash D

This is good but I'd say Kathy Bates is the queen in Stephen kings Dolores Claiborne. Hint hint. ☺️

Madame Delphine Lalaurie!

Love that you've reacted to Misery, I'm just about to watch this reaction :) also definitely staying a patron for American Horror story!

It's also so stressful watching some of the scenes, really well done! Glad you enjoyed it as much as you did :)

Samuel

Oh wow, I did not recognize her at first! And I definitely think this is quite a disturbing movie mainly in the fact that it's very grounded and is something that could happen (and likely has happened before)

Also so deserved that Kathy Bates won an Oscar for this movie! Fun fact - you'll see her on American Horror Story down the line as well :)

Samuel

Did you recognize Virginia (the sheriff's wife)? She was in The Mist as well :) I've watched this movie so many times and it's equally disturbing every time! I was probably no older than 5 years old the first time I saw it - I was spending christmas with my grandparents and had gone to bed, but couldn't sleep and got back up, and my grandfather was the only one up, watching tv, and Misery came on, and he let me watch with him. Scared the crap out of me and I remember having nightmares about Annie for weeks. However it became a weird sort of christma tradition for my grandfather and me to watch the movie. For years it was on late at night at christmas, and we watched it every year for a good long time. So the movie also brings me a lot of nostalgia.

Samuel

Your reaction to this film was ironic in a way. In Steven Kings book Annie actually does chop off his feet with an axe. Then she uses a blow torch to cauterize the wound. The book was much more graphic than the movie. I agree with your assessment though. Part of the enjoyment of this film was the Director’s choice to add in some humor.

Nick Stark

Agreed!
