Laena had always been fascinated by Vhagar and had yet to tame a dragon. She ended up finding Vhagar in the cave where she resided, and I believe she may have offered her goats etc a couple of times before claiming her. I also think it was expected that Rheana, having yet to have claimed a dragon, would claim Vhagar, not her uncle/cousin or whatever Aemond is to her lol. I also agree with your car analogy, if my dad had a nice Porsche, I would expect to get it over my distant cousin... Plus it was also kind of bad timing on Aemonds part, like it was Laena's funeral, he could have at least waited a while until he tried to claim Vhagar. This also adds to people who say that Rhaena should have claimed Vhagar before Aemond could... the girl was mourning her mother.

For those who keep saying a dragon cannot be stolen, I get your point. But here's how I view it. After you die, can I just take your car? Did Daemon not STEAL his dead nephew's egg? In GOT, did that warlock not steal Daenerys' young dragons?
I think it should be up to the surviving family members to decide what to do with the deceased possessions.
Having said that, as I mentioned in a previous episode's comments, I would like to know how Leana was able to acquire Vhagar. Is that explained in the book?

eww so many team greens in the comments I'm about to be sick
Also one thing u missed. In episode 6, Alicent's daughter mentions to Aegon - '' you will have a dragon one day'' and her daughter said ''he'll have to close an eye'' as she was playing with some insects in the back. This episode Aemond lost and eye and gained a dragon. Always pay attention to what she talks xd

I love that twist at the end. I think Laenor leaving is really the best thing he could do for Rhaenyra and the children. No one would dare cross Daemon. They're all better protected now.
