Game of Thrones - Episode 8x5 Full Reaction!

Varys tries to poison her and writes letters to her enemies, yet people people don't understand why he is executed. She sacrifices her armies and a dragon to help the world survive, no one gives a shit. The people she helped immediately starts plotting against her. Her oldest friend is murdered, her second dragon is murdered, her best friend is murdered, the man she loves turns out to be her relative and rival and no longer wants her. In the blink of an eye in a strange country she loses everyone she loves and the rest of her allies betray her, yet people can't grasp how she succumbs to hatred and madness. I guess the average GoT viewer would have had no problem keeping their sanity in check and their sense of morality held intact after all that. Well done, that is really something. For the rest of us mere mortals however, extreme emotions and trauma can actually cause people to do things that 'doesn't make sense'. Pay especially attention to the people around you with a savior complex who on their best of days threatens to burn down cities. They might on their worst of days end up burning down a city. Or maybe that's just 'bad writing'.

How to destroy an amazing character and amazing show... It just felt so wrong to me that she killed everyone when it was all about getting freedom from the beginning... Like if her whole character development from season 1 was for nothing. Im not supposed to feel bad for Cersei and hate Daenerys after all that happen, its just so unsatisfying

I think she just snapped after realizing that Cersie surrendering didn't make her feel any better about what happened to her dragons and mostly Missandei, which is how Grey Worm probably felt too. I'm not saying it's right though.

“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Huge theme for the show. My first rewatch after season 8 was so eye opening. Like you said, her advisers stop her almost every time she wants to use fire and blood. It’s season 7 when she stops listening and we get to really see her unshackled. Just her conversations alone in seasons 4-8 are very telling. I can second that recommendation for MrLboyd!

Honestly I was weary of Danny since season 4. The only thing that's kept her from doing crazy shit before was the people around her. This time it didn't work. Building stress combined with awful family history did her in. Also, contrary to popular belief she wasn't just going around killing innocents. In nearly every group she burns there are at least 1 or 2 Lanmister soldiers in the group. She was burning them regardless of how many people were surrounding them. I didn't realize this until I watched it a few times. We also see that everyone who has pursued the throne, Cersie, Dany, Stannis, Little Finger etc. Has ended up the bad guy in the end. If you ever get a chance go to "MrLboyd reacts" channel and watch his reactions. His were most in line with my views of any reactor I've watched. It was fun seeing him hint towards something like this from early on. R.I.P. Hound. One of my favorite characters in any show ever all time.

Hey everybody, I figured it out. Daenery suffers from bipolar disorder. It explains everything. Mystery solved.
