The original ending was supposed to be the part where Red rides on the bus to go and see Andy, but without the meet-up at the end. But people told Frank Darabont that he couldn't end it that way, so he added on the scene at the very end. I'm so glad they did that. Powerful ending. Fabulous reaction, just as I knew it would be.
