128 Facts About the Boys (part 1)

So I was doing one of those "one like = one fact about my OC" memes on Bluesky, and it got up to 128 likes last I looked. I'll be slowly picking away at the answers until I hit all 128. Until then, I thought I'd collect all the answers so far here for you lovely patrons!!

1. Denver's favorite movie is The Toxic Avenger (1984) and as an 8-year old he wanted to go Melvin for Halloween, but his mom wouldn't let him

2. Daniel's most finely tuned skill in life is keeping his secret obsession with martial arts films under wraps

3. Denver may or may not just end up using Tomás socks if they get mixed in with his in the laundry (okay let's be real he absolutely does)

4. Daniel separates his laundry and has a specific laundry detergent for his darks

5. Denver and Tomás got sent to the principal's office for their 5th grade science project: "Experiments on a Dead Mouse We Found in the Alleyway." In an alternate timeline one of those kids may have went on to win a Nobel prize. in this timeline they both earn minimum wage.

6. Daniel and Alex were not allowed to watch to watch Y-7 television shows until they were actually seven

7. Denver will eat anything if you pay him enough (and his standards for 'enough' are concerningly low)

8. Daniel will clean his plate even if he absolutely hates a food that's on it because he is scarred for life from being called out as a picky eater by his grandparents

9. Denver's first skateboard was a used one given to him by Tomás's older brother, Javi, which is the only thing Javi has ever done wrong in Mrs. Leary's eyes

10. Alex told Daniel that if you don't hold your breath when you drive through a tunnel, your head will explode from the pressure and it wasn't until Daniel was 11 or so that he realized she was just messing with him

11. Denver shared a bedroom with Rorie his entire childhood and adolescence, and who had a worse time of it depends on which Leary kid you asked

12. Daniel has the coffee taster's flavor wheel memorized, just in case he ever decides to one day get certified as a Q grader

13. Denver's dream job as a kid was "garbage man." (Denver's dream job as an adult? "garbage man". look the city has good benefits and 401k matching and--)

14. Daniel and Alex wanted a pet their whole life and their mom would always tell them, "Someday, when we have a house big enough." Their family never moved from their townhouse.

15. Pets Denver had as a kid (however briefly):

- Lucky the raccoon kit

- Professor Monk (turns out it was a neighbor's indoor cat named Buttons who escaped)

- Ferdinand (a duck that was returned to the pond)

- Mecha-Godzilla (a stray dog that lived in the alley) - Caviar (a goldfish)

16. Daniel loved writing book reports as much as Alex hated it (A Lot)

17. Denver has only ever gotten good grades in P.E. and Shop class, but this has more to do with him being a kinesthetic learner and not that he is inherently bad at any of the other subjects

18. Daniel is excellent at forging his parents' respective signatures, which is a skill he has had to employ on Alex's behalf too many times to count

19. Denver's the guy in the mosh pit that helps get crowdsurfers up, not the guy interested in doing the crowdsurfing

20. Daniel's "what could you talk about for 30 minutes with no preparation" topic is Chicago architecture (please no one do this to him, because that 30 minutes can and will easily turn into 60)

 21. Related to fact #7, but the list of different kinds of bugs Denver has eaten is unfortunately longer than you're guessing. Yeah, take that number you have in your mind and double it

22. Daniel's dream travel is seeing the northern lights over Reykjavík

23. Denver's dream travel is making it farther east than Detroit.

24. Daniel cannot remember the names of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. ("uh... is Botticelli one of them?")

25. For a brief week Denver had local notoriety for going undefeated at the arcade on Bloody Roar 2. (Then Javi came back home.)
